  1. Looks really good Steve! Tuned in for results!

Oh and one more thing: Where can someone get chop mat like that? I need a big roll like that.

I noticed that you always seem to use it, it almost looks like a mix between mat and cloth? Looks easier to use than regular old mat.

    Anyway, thanks, and good luck!

So any info on the mat?

  2. talk to trippi about who he uses. His stuff came out nice. I believe punkyou007 has a guy too.

Thanks N8, I believe your right

Lets see a pic of them.

Sorry guys, I didn't mean to mislead anyone. They are not finished, actually I just started back on them yesterday.

It will take me at least 2 weeks to finish them. I guess I was just getting a heads up on where to send them.

you ever think of looking an hour or two away? Im sure theres got to be some shop around you within an hour or two drive. Would be worth the drive and be cheaper than shipping door panels.

Yeah, I am about 2 hours from Columbus, and about 3 hours from Cincinnati. If I could find someone close, then sure I would have them do it!

I'm just prepared to ship them wherever is necessary to make sure they are right.

  3. So I'm starting back up where I left off on my door panels this week, and I have come to the conclusion that I don't wanna waste my time or money attempting to wrap them myself. So where is the best place to send them?

These have got to come out perfect, and now is not the time for me to learn. So I think I'll just leave it to the pros.

Anyway, I just need to know who to get a hold of. Thanks for your time!

  4. Looks awesome Steve! Good luck, hope it turns out well!

The only part I'm not understanding is what makes it considered a "Clamshell"? Is it the way the subs are facing one another?

And if so, then then what makes it "isobaric"? The space in between each sub?

I remember seeing these style setups in the 90's, but I had no idea what they were, or how they worked.

Super cool idea, whether or not you keep it!

Now I bet we will be seeing several others try it since you did....

  5. Showed up kinda late to the party, but first off, I would have used copper or at least twice the thickness in alum. Just think is your 1/0 wire copper or alum? Anyway, the finished product looks great, I also recommend using brass bolts and nuts/washers, corrosion resistance and less resistance then steel by ALOT. Can get everything you need from Mcmaster Carr.com awesome place to buy stuff like this and cheap prices.

Thanks man, I appreciate the advice! I am definitely gonna re-do the bus bars, I just went ahead and made these two for the time being, and to get some practice. I will at least use 1/2" x 1-1/2" alum. And I was wondering which bolts were best to use, I'll pick up some brass stuff soon too!

    Thanks again for the help!

    :drink40:

yeah it tuned out really nice. Maby get some thicker stuff like these guys said but other than that great job.

    Thanks man, will do! :drink40:

  6. Alright cool, so what usually comes after the big 3 (electrical wise)?

    HO Alt

    Batteries

You can use as many batteries as you like, you will just have to charge them once in a while. The more batteries, the more often you will have to charge.

But I don't think having more batteries will hurt your electrical system, or your alt. It just simply will not be able to keep them fully charged.

Also, with just the two Kicker amps you listed, just do the big 3, and do it way better than you have to.

That should be enough, those amps don't draw a lot of power.

I really liked my ZX1000.1, they are really efficient, and sound clean as hell!

But yeah you should be fine with just the big 3 done properly.

  7. For a mirror on those bus bars, Id hit them with 400, 600, and 1000 grit, then go at it with a polishing wheel and some jewelers rouge or mothers polishing compund. Will look amazing. Use "elbbow" grease(by hand) all you want and they still won't look as good as using a wheel, and it will take mucho longer. Do it the way I listed and youll be amazed. Itll be like a mirror. Then to thank me, you can drive the 2 hrs up here and help me make my box!

Cool, thanks man! I appreciate the help. And hell yeah I'll come help you with your box, long as you come help me with mine here in a few weeks!

Hell yeah bigsix, you must know what I'm talking about on the polishing "wheels", ... There isn't anything "wrong" with elbow grease, but, I'm also a big believer in "work smart,.. Not hard".

Op, follow the above suggestion, and you'll see your mug in the mirror reflection...

    Cool thanks man!
