  1. I have several other feedbacks that have been misplaced by accident.

I received a sub from Purplehaze it arrived in mint condition. He made a crate to ship fatty in the total weight was 113pounds and the sub 96.

Plus he stayed in constant contact with me....He's a great seller, no problems at all.

Big Red is a low end monster while staying musical. Tech talk there... Real talk it fucking slams. It's getting baby power from a SQ2200, and it's in a 3 cube box with lots of port. The box I made was just a quick one to see how it sounded period. It sounds amazing, I can't believe it's going to sound even better when it gets a little broken in. The sub was super tight when I received it, so I was super easy on it. Now I slam it on Decaf, and it moves tons of air, put on a little AC/DC and the kick drums are nice tight. My wife says it's the best sounding sub I've even owned, that's saying something cause I've been at this since the late 80s. Her exact words were," It sounds so smooth", but when I turned it up more she bailed as usual. ha ha I plan on getting a 3.5k amp for it, could it handle 5k or more maybe. I'm not going to be the one to find out. Thanks, Trent for making a beast!

Thanks man, I'm really glad you like it! Remember if you ever wanna sell it... even if it's all beat up and both coils are toast... I want it back!!
Edit: Anyone else I've dealt with please feel free to leave feedback. Thanks!

  2. I just wouldnt mind my bank being on charge after 6 weeks of nothing.

Just go get a $30 digitally controlled battery charger from walmart. It will charge your bank and not hurt anything, guaranteed. May not be as nice as the XS Power charger, but it will get the job done safely. They actually say on them they are AGM safe.

I'd do that before I let them go dead. Plus you'd have a good back-up charger.

  3. What benefit does that basket option have?

    ...besides looking super badass lol

Its taller so there's more usable throw potential, It also uses 10 inch spiders, Its Super Strong and umm o yea, as you said, looks super bad ass =]

    Just read back..

hmmmmm..... killer nab on the 10" spider...

    cool.... nice work.

EDIT- does that change the 4" coil?

    i would think it would..??

Its the same 4 inch coil we currently use in the Level 6

Is the current lvl 6 coil different than the previous one? (taller former?)

  4. Thanks guys for your concern!

keep me posted with whats going down in here... sounds fishy

Nope not fishy at all. People have problems sometimes. I would never cheat anyone. Never.

I just don't know why you'd need to talk to him for specs on a DC woofer with DC here and many team members, just saying

They are just built off of DC motors and baskets. Custom woofers with changes to coil and spiders, so contacting a DC rep would not get me what I need.

Man I had those specs for you, but unfortunately they were on the computer that my girl spilled coffee on. I do remember that the fs was 47hz if that helps you any?

Edit: Might as well post my actual contact info, since that was the actual purpose of this thread. (and the stuff posted was way old)

  5. Probably a stupid question but why do the newer designs have a pointed part in the center of the motor while the older ones are flat?

its the extended pole piece, my recollection is that's its there to keep the coil centered when the coil leaves the gap because these are super high xmax motors, and also stop the coil from bottoming out , the dustcap will hit this before the coil hits the backplate.

im sure Jacob will chime in to correct me where needed or if im way out :P

I could be wrong, but I believe the main purpose is cooling. It helps dissipate more heat.

Also the dust cap is not gonna stop anything, if it hits it then you will likely need a new dust cap.

And I don't think that's even capable of happening, even with the extreme amount of travel those subs have, b/c of the design of the frame.

Hopefully Jacob will clear this up, cause I could be dead wrong. But I don't think so.

  6. I got total resistance is 12 ohm so current is 1A. A * R=V so 8 ohm resistor has a 8v drop and the 4 ohm has a 4v drop. W=A*V so 8 ohm resistor has 8w of power and 4 ohm resistor has 4w of power. Does this sound right?

    Homework answer:

    Total current = 12w

    Power in 8 ohm load = 8w

    " " 4 ohm load = 4w

    Is this right?

I think we said the same thing (pretty much) so I think we are right.

He will tell us if it's not. (I think)

  7. Gotz1lung is still around, he dont post to much anymore but he is still around, he is also having some health issues.

I gotta go see him soon.

the fucked up part is, he's only about 45 mintues from me. i really need to check on him. he has been in the hospital for about a week or more, he's still kickin', but, still.

Damn, yeah I'm gonna have to go see him too. Hope all is okay, he's a really cool guy.

Bslapsyomomma. I bought a dcxl off of him and seemed like a cool guy. Thehoe92 was off of Facebook for a while and just recent came back. I've noticed that a lot of the veterans and old timers on the forum are not active as much. Shit even Ray don't come on much anymore

ray is pretty active on Facebook. He's pretty busy over at sonus

Wait, Ray now works for Sonus? What happened to his shop?

  8. ok, go ahead and have every new kid out there thinking the dc5k is a 10k amp and watch them be dissapointed. The point of my post is you really should be smart enough to know that dynamic rms number is not a continuous power output like the guys reading this are going crazy about.

Man, I totally don't want to piss you off, as I really think a lot of you.

But I don't think anyone is ever going to be disappointed after buying a DC 5.0K.

They are beast amps, and everyone who has ever heard/ owned one will tell you the same thing.

    Straight beast dude.

Don't have to own an AD-1 to know that. Just a 5k.

  9. if only people could play music at .67 after rise lol

Yeah, then more people would be blowing their stuff more often!

Lol, no but honestly, does anyone really need their amps max potential, on music, at all times? I know I don't.

On a different note, I'd love to see a Kicker amp tested. See if it does it's 2 ohm rating... like a ZX2500.1 for example, rated @2500 RMS @2ohms.
