    Like I said, i calculated at worse case scenario at batts being 10.5v. So, a good amp is around 80% efficient. Add all my amps rated power, and you end up with 9240 rated watts from my amps. You devide this by 80% to get the input power required to produce the total 9240 watts, and you get a calculation of 11550 watts of input needed to produce the 9240 rated watts from the amps. Now, to change this to voltage required, you divide your required input wattage by your battery voltage (10.5v for worse case, and 14.4v for worse case). So, 11550w / 10.5v = 1100a. Now you calculate the available amperage from your alt. A top end usage car will use around 50% of the stock alt. So, my stock alt is a 110a alt, so therefore at high demand, my vehicle will use around 55a. Considering I now have a 300a alt, that leaves me with a round estimate of 245a from my HO Alt to power my amps. So before we figured that you need a total of 1100a to power my system efficiently at worse case scenario of 10.5v. 245a is available from my alt, so I subtract this from the total required. 1100a - 245a = 855a still needed to power my amps. So now I know that I need a batt or group of batteries with a total availabe power rating of 855aH to efficiently power my system at the lowest voltage possible. Now that I go back and configure, I was a little off from my earlier calculation of 1000, but even at 855aH, it is still overkill, b/c a good system should never get to 10.5v. Just wanted to let you know how I figured this calculation.

    Okay, so after doing my homework, i figured that in a worse case scenerio @ 10.5v, I would need a bank containing 1012AH of battery power to keep sufficient power to my system. Trying to get some help from you guys. I am not real familiar with different brands and battery types. Can you guys help me out with a battery combination that can supply me with around 1000AH?

    ^^^LOL...makes sense. But my recone was for the older saucer style magnet. So I'm sure they have those waiting around. I'm in no hurry, nor will I get all anal about the time it akes to get my recone, as long as it ain't six months down the road or nothing. I just wanted to know about when could I expect it. I was really hoping to have it here before SBN.

    12 gauge cord, i like that one side is square and the other is round, makes it easy to tell positive from negitive http://www.knukoncep...0Speaker%20Wire

    Actually, I liked the wire for the same reason. But, the one that had the round and square jacket was the "Klear" speaker wire, which they no longer sale. I just saw the blue, and ordered 100ft of the "Kord" and to my dissapointment both jackets are round.

    So, I ordered a couple of recones on Feb 1st. I realize the guys at Fi only take about 1 day every couple of two weeks to work on recones. What I am trying to figure out, is for you guys that have ordered them in the past, whats the usual wait time on a delivery? I don't want to email Fi, as they prolly have enough work on their bench, not to mention they prolly won't be able to give me a time...I just wanted some time frames from people who have ordered in the past.

    Okay, so I've built my fair share of boxes, and I like to play low. But I'm doing a serious build and I want to go as low as possible. I've always found the magic number between 30hz and 32hz. I'm using two FI BTL 18's, and the site recomends a tuning of 32hz. I want to try to go low, but i don't want to tune it so low that it will sound shitty and I will be dissapointed. What do you guys suggest?

    This may sound stupid, but are your gains turned up? I always turn my gains down before an install, and there have been several times that I hook up a speaker to make sure its working, get no sound, and get frustrated just to realize that I forgot that my gains were all the way down.

  23. Strapping 3+ Amps?

    Is it possible to have one master and 2 or more slaves? I'm running two BTL 18's on 4 AQ2200's, and I'm just curious if I can use one AQ as a master, and the other 3 as slaves, or is this only possible with one master and one slave?
