  1. I have personally used over 60+ Sundown amplifiers in my personal builds and never had one arrive doa or had one fail at it's own fault. I have abused the hell out of them with 0.125ohm burps, 9.5v drops, and 0.33ohms daily setups. It took strapping a pair of 1500s @ 0.25ohm (0.125 each) on 16v and about a dozen burps being pushed into full clipping before I finally managed to purposely fry the output section on one. The other amp was fine. These things are tanks.

The customer service is great and the two year full replacement warranty is great. Also most people over look the five year discounted replacement warranty. What that means is that if your amplifier is damaged (even at your own fault) you can trade it in for a discount on a new replacement amplifier.

  2. We did setups with two, three, and four 18"s in here last year. They did alright but just not enough. The decision was made to cram as much cone area in as possible and 12"s are the perfect fit with the width available. Multiple subs also spread the power out for better overall power handling & reliability.

Actual tested in vehicle tuning is 24hz. It plays the lows VERY well. Peak hold on music it does between a 155-155.2 from 29hz to 35hz (sealed on the TL, mic on the windshield). It was BassBoxing 154s playing Dj Billy E - Beats for My Van @ 32hz at SBN before the windshield let loose (30sec average, AC meter on the windshield). It did a 153.6 at an event this weekend (30sec average on music on the TL).

It has become impossible to keep the rear side windows in the truck. They have broken totally loose. Even Gorilla Tape won't hold anymore as it just rips it off.

  3. 5k 9004 kit from http://www.hidextra.com. Use code meca2010 and they're only $60 with free shipping. I bought two kits. One for my Explorer and one for my brother's Excursion. I'll also be purchasing another kit for the wife's van.

Everything is completely plug & play. No wiring or splicing required. Only took a few minutes to install.

The pictures do make them look brighter then they actually are. Wife looked straight at them from the house and said they weren't overbearing. I took them for a test drive and didn't get flashed by anybody.

    Driving vid.

    Walk around.

  4. Got these brand new through Raybuck.com. They were a little over $200 shipped. Different colors are available. I'm slowly changing everything in the truck over to all black.

No pockets which is a good thing.

    No speaker cloth.

Everything is solid plastic except for the arm rest. It's padded.

The door handle is a little different. Old one was plastic, this one is padded.

They were cheaper through Raybuck though.

I love these much better than the factory door panels. They'll be getting custom fiberglassed speaker pods holding two Selenium 6" mids and a Selenium st350 tweeter in each door. Can't wait to get them installed.
