  1. Definitely go DVI. HDMI doesn't always play nice with some graphics chips. The monitor looks slick and specs look solid. I can't find any reviews but it looks awesome and if you can get it for a good price i say go for it.

sweet as. In the future i might look at getting a second one as the GTX 560 has two DVI outputs. well thats the plan money is the issue, now to find a solution *buys lotto ticket*

    thanks for the input

  2. Has any one used this screen before?

Im looking at getting it for my new rig. Its on special atm so its cheaper then most other LEDs that are of a well known brand. Any input before I go buy it? It will be run through HDMI or DVI idk what one yet. maybe DVI as my TV has hdmi so i might use the hdmi from the graphics card to run that , then on of the DVI's to run the LG screen.

  3. thats why i was thinking subs up port back, i mean with 6 15's and 7-8k rms i should still be able to hairtrick with a simple box.. but does anyone know if your throwing more RMS then what the rating of the subs ask for if you should drop the cubes per sub or keep em at rated or raise em?

I believe you make it smaller, but I imagine if you take too much airspace out it will change te sound a fair bit

  4. so you a grand pa??

Serious question, do you have a mental handicap?

come on fizzy why you always crap me over anything i say??

and yeah while i was 6 i was mentaly handipaced in a sense and i still am....i has epilepsy and it sucks...have to drink 2 medicine pills every night...it sucks to live this way....

and to the OP....it was a joke

    My bad man.

One of my good friends has epilepsy as well. I've seen him go through some tough shit so I kinda know where your coming from.

  5. Once again the SMD family has stepped up.

If you have read my build log you will know my sub amp took a crap on me, after making a new box.

well NZBASSHEAD, a member here on SMD lives at the other end of the country to me, yet he said he can help me out with a amp. I would of been sooo happy to get a used 200w amp but no, he went the extra fucking mile and BOUGHT me a brand spanking new amp, from a local shop to me so all i had to do was go and pick it up.

I guess i created this to show how greatfull towards him for helping me out so so so much! ive had a shit time laitly, I got kicked out of home and lived in my car for 2 weeks, and my girl also left me when she found out I didnt have anywhere to live, shows how much she cared about me ae! anyway this kind kind man has 100% made me the happiest ive been in so long and for me, im a nobody yet he helped me with out thinking twice.

    Thanks sooo much to him.

and props to steve for the family he has here, Im so glad im a part of it!!!! I litrally spend my paychecks buying food and data on my phone so i can get on here.

Thanks everyone who is on this amazing site!!

    SMD FTW!!

  6. if everything checks out, it may just be a messed up amp. i hate to say it but it happens. you can post picture of the amp internals (good quality ones) but other than that i cant think of anything else that can help you out.

Im just about to head out for a few hours so ill take pics when I get back. so check back later. I hope it hasn't died. I just finished my new box and now wont be able to hear it :cray:

  7. If your amp doesn't have any fuses on it, you need to be sure to tie in a fuse on your power cable near the battery. Not every amplifier has fuses built in, but many of them do. Was your amp working before? Is it in protect mode, or is there zero power? Use a DMM if you have one to test for 12v power and ground at the amplifier.

I have two fuses on the 12v line, one by the battery and one by the amp. they are all fine. it isnt going into protect, it isnt doing anything. simply nothing haha, no power lights are coming on or anything.

  8. there are no onboard fuses on that amp. which some companies do. i know you said you bridged the 12v and remote, but did you check to see if you're getting at least 12v on the main power line? thats the very first thing i would look at. look at every single connection along that power line, especially at the two fuse holders. if you have a multimeter that would help out tremendously here. next thing i would look at is your ground. where is it bolted to? is the paint sanded off as to make the metal shiny where the wire lug contacts the metal?

Yeah ive checked all the lines with my DMM and they are all fine. I also know they work fine because I have a volt meter that i put in with the amp inputs and it was reading 12.6v so I know the connections are fine. Ground is connected to the suspension bolt that comes up to the frame. it has been sanded down so its super shiny.

Is there anything inside the amp that may of blown? Ive opened it up and cant see anything burnt or anything.

If I cant get this amp working its going to be no car audio for me for a wile, I have no money to get a new amp/repair this one

  9. I just reinstalled my amp which is a sounstream STL1.1200d and it doesn't work. In my build log a member said to check the fuses, so I went to my car to do this. BUTTTT the amp doesn't have any on it? I thought they always had to have some. Does anyone know why the amp would stop working? I have checked all the power/ground wires and they solid and good to go. But the amp doesnt turn on, even when I jump the remote wire from the 12v input it doesn't work.

My main concern is the fact that it doesn't have any fuses though, I have two on the 12v cable but isnt the amp meant to have its own?
