  1. Well ordered my new subs from Matrix Audio the UK distro for sundown 4 x SA-8v.2 dual 2 ohm coils to run off of my SAZ4500d should be interesting having gone from 4 x DC l415" in a wall to these in a trunk build. JJ
  2. Here you go mate I asked this the other day, hopefully DC will take note and include them on the new site especially as there is so much out there, pretty surprised they didn't include it tbh. http://web.archive.org/web/20101229094459/http://www.dcsoundlab.com/specs.html hth JJ
  3. If you can ship to UK I'm up for one with plain back. JJ
  4. Thanks guys, emailed rusty and he very kindly sent them too me. JJ (null)
  5. DC do not have them on the site since the new site went live. Does anyone have the full specs for the V1 level 4 18" subs please, to use with bass box pro vas/qts etc JJ
  6. Thanks for that dude, going to go back and re read the torres thread as I don't think I am getting my head round it too good after using BBP6 for so long. JJ
  7. Ok so all box will be 1" thick as I already have sheets of it with a 2" baffle was going to do port in 2" so I can get a mega flare rather than just a round over. Appreciate the help guys trying to go state style build as you seem to tune/build your boxes different to us in the UK. So bracing is taken care of its a 1" diameter steel bar with a plate welded either end to bolt to front baffle and rear panel so that will be solid. I've allowed the .25cuft for that. Not sure why your saying 3 shared walls as the port will bolt on top of the box?. Sorry if it sounds like I'm being stupid guys never used Torres calc and never had an external port have ays done slot ported boxes/walls. I'll aim to be around 31-32hz tuning wise but as said with a drop on port I can change very easily. JJ (null)
  8. OK I think I have corrected the bits you guys were on about have also changed material thickness to 2" all round. the only thing not accounted for is there will be a 1" diameter steel bar front to rear internally for bracing which should take it down to bang on 12cuft so six cuft each which is spot on what DC recc, obviously the top panel the port is sat on will only have a 4" gap at the back couldn't draw that in sketch up as I am not so good with it!. Thanks again for any help. JJ
  9. Thanks guys will drop little one off at school and have another look at Torres calc, looks a great program just need to get my head around it. JJ (null)
  10. Whole box will be 2" thick and be braced the sketch up was just to show better than I could describe what I am thinking the port will be a drop on port again not part of the box. I checked DC and I do have room on the front for two subs again it's a quick sketch up I'm not that great with it tbh. 8 batteries and two alts so electrical is good. So the box should work ok and you guys reckon to tune a little higher 30-31??. Any other changes you can see need to be made?. Could some run through the Torres calc for me to show how it should look and where I have gone wrong? With a screen shot if poss first time using this program I usually use BBPro but my comp with that on is dead JJ (null)
  11. not sure what you are saying dude?. If this helps it's a scale model in google sketch up?. Obviously it will have plenty of flaring on the port top of port is 2" thick and sides will also have extra material added to round those over the same amount.
  12. Hi guys currently sorting out an enclosure for my new 18" lvl 4 DC's X2 now I want to do something a little different I am putting them in a box approx 14cuft less displacement of subs and want to put the port on top of the box scooped from back to front of box so port will be above the subs, I am assuming it is the same as doing a slot port inside the box except you obviously do not need to remove port displacement from the box?. Not sure on exact port dimensions yet but I want it to be windy so tuning to 27-29hz as last install of 4 x 15" lvl 4's was tuned to 33hz and want to try a bit lower this time again another reason for external port as it will be far easier to change. I am also assuming its just a case of cut a slot out of the top panel left to right with whatever width then just building the port onto that?. any pics or diagrams would be great and also advice. on a side note they are being powered by a SAZ-4500D clamped at 4936w @13v Thanks JJ
  13. Ok so I want to play with my lvl2 8" ported now, I have 500wrms to give it and plenty of space now DC reccomend .8cuft ported but I'm thinking of a bit bigger maybe 1.2-1.3cuft tuned too 31hz. What have you guys done with yours? What's worked out well. JJ
  14. Thought I'd update this a little whole install was removed and am in the process of redoing it all. After a little advice from people who have used these Lvl 2 8"s ported are the specs from DC good for these ported or is it best to go a little bigger? Thinking 1.2cuft tuned to 35hz? Port 10.5" x 1.75"? What have you guys used?. JJ
