  1. its 1.3 before displacement I did this by accident but now I'm trying to compensate and make it 1.2 cubes by putting the port inside. if that makes sense? and I'm on the fence on how big to make the port both length an size of pipe? I'm not sure what to tune the box to and wondering if a 3in aero would be ok? most i see people run 4-6in? I'm waiting from a message back from sean over at sundown only to know what to tune it to and how much port area I need? unless you know^?
  2. So I'm deff. doing 2 sa8s built the box today shes right at 1.3 cubes after diplacement was wondering if I have enough room to put the port(aero) inside the box so I dont have this god awful pipe in the way killing the look
  3. Sean over at sundown only. recommends them to be ported and for an external aero. I just mount the one flared end inside the box then the rest just obviously outside the box.
  4. SA 8's dont like sealed enclosures nore will they get as loud as I want them to be in a sealed box can anyone answer my questions about the aeroports? and why should they be external? just so they dont take up air space in the box?
  5. How many aeros would I need to tune to 34hz? And how big should they be? Both length and width
  6. How else could I run the port sense the subs are downfiring? I sure hope I can have one of the loudest systems in my school!!! All thanks to you guys haha
  7. Sadly, yes that's what I mean by downfiring the port. There will be space between the port and floor ofcourse so the subs can flex.....
  8. Actually, The aq1200 is what I had in mind just havent set anything in stone.
  9. I was worried that would be enough I can do 1.2cubes easy. The port is 3.07in wide and 10.5in tall so 32in of port Area is that right? Is there supposed to be a gap between the top plate and the port? This is my first ported box so I'd really like to do it right the first time. And Is it ok if the port downfires?
  10. Ok been playin around with the RE box builder turns out after displacement and everything I'm right around 1.5 cubes . is that enough for the 2 sa-8s? thats with the box tuned to 34hz like sundown recommends. opinions?
  11. Not sure on the amp I just know (what he told me) its 1500rms. the box they're in is a mtx terminator prefabulous box and they're 12s
  12. Man I've tried to download torres calc. I can just download it cant open it, got really frustrated over it haha. This is probably gonna sound super lame to you guys. But I'm in high school and I got buddies with type R's on 1500rms will the 8's be any competiton?
  13. I'm starting to plan the rest of my system I already have nice mids and highs on a 4 ch amp lookin to add some real bass I have 2 cubes to work with. I'm in a single cab truck removing the jump seat and gonna mount the top half of the jump(the console) to the top of the sub box. subs would be downfiring going with the whole out of sight out of mind thought. not sure what I should do or can do. 2 DD 1510s? or one 12? I know I have enough volume for the 12 but not sure about the 10s? which would be louder? looking for opinions. box would of course be ported is it ok if the port downfires aswell? power will be coming a 1200 watt amp not sure which brand yet......
