  1. Any time at all. If you ever sell any sound system things or computers or music. let me know. I am glad that it worked for you. lets just hope you can recover your hdd and that it didn't completely die.
  2. Okay. Well, I remembered a program that you can use. auto converts it to pc format for you to. Since im not the best direction giver i figured you could try and keep up with a youtube tut that i found. (he's using an older version but it is basically still the same. seems to work with Vista so it should be able to work on windows7) Let me Know if that helps. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nHxZ88tdYHA
  3. Ya. That's for XP :0 i just remembered. Give me like 5 minutes and i'll have it figure out for windows7/vista
  4. Well, If you have the music on your ipod and want it on your computer then that is not a problem there is a way to do that. i believe windows 7 is just like vista. i have a windows7 laptop. this pc is vista. and my other computers are xp. I ahve to many computers to keep track of. got 2 here in my room. got 3 laptops. got got another 7 downstairs and one in the basement lol. Yuo can give this a try it should work for you. saves a lot of time too i mgiht add. 1. Connect the iPod to your PC. If iTunes starts syncing (ie erasing) your music automatically, hit the X in the upper right hand corner of iTunes display, to the left of the search box, to stop it. 2. In Control Panel, Portable Media Devices, double-click your iPod. 3. Navigate to the Music folder. 4. Select all the music folders, and drag and drop them into a folder on your hard drive, or directly into iTunes. And you’re done! The iPod music folder structure is strange and inexplicable, but once you move your files into iTunes you can set it to automatically organize your folder by artist and album to clean that up. (To do this, in iTunes Edit menu, choose Preferences and in the Advanced tab, check “Keep iTunes Music Folder organized.”)
  5. I may be a "noob" to sound systems but Computer use to be my life. had my own since i was 4 xD was a huge gamer. then learned much more about computers and stopped gaming. recently i just stopped gaming and got interested in sound systems instead of computers anyway. Don't thank my yet not until the job is done. hmm. i was going to d/l one of thoes of the link you sent but then realized that I don't currently have any burning software on my pc (hmmphh how did that happen. I always have one.) You should not "have" to buy anything. No need to be sorry either. Questions help us learn. You can use one of the ones from that link or you can use http://www.linuxmint.com/download.html that one. or you can get ubuntu. there are plenty of choices. I would recommend that you get a live cd for an OS that has a "desktop" so you can see what your doing instead of just sending it commands.
  6. Do I just download linux OS from here: http://www.livecdlist.com/pclinuxos and burn it to a disk? Then put it in the computer? I have an external hard drive, would I just hook it up via USB and transfer all the files that I want to there? Any "LIVE" OS should work. Meaning No INSTALLATION to the computer. you simply put the cd in and the OS loads. From there Yes you would put the disk into your pc. and then navigate to your "crashed" hdd(since you said your a computer noob I expect you will know how to do this). plug in your external hdd (with your usb port) then you will be able to transfer your files to your external hdd(drag and drop/Copy and paste) (sorry I am not the best direction giver ever but if you have more questions feel free to ask.)
  7. Ok, Well we will give it a try. First thing you will need to do is burn a disk with a "live" linux OS. (as long as the hdd that crashed originally had your OS on it) Then stick that disk in. let it launch up. then you can mount and browse the "crashed" hdd and copy files from it to another drive or storage area. Hopefully you can burn a disk. If not then your trying to stump me. (there's always more than one way to skin a cat) No, Guarantee's that this will work. but, this is the cheapest, fastest way. Let me know if you need help with anything else and if it worked or not.
  8. Are you near that PC now? If so. open up the side of it. then turn it on. and try and see if the hdd makes a humm or vibrates or something If so then we are in luck and we can recover your data. if you don't know for sure we can still try. btw i have had problems where i turn my pc on and its just a black screen when i thought it was the hdd it wasn't and it really was just the power supply. so your hdd might not be the problem but i am 8 0 % sure from how you explain it that your hdd crashed.
  9. Need some more details. Did the HDD crash? What type of error did you get? Blue screen? won't boot? black screen? says no op system installed? or what? I will be glad to offer some assistance. Depends what type of crash it was if it can still be recovered or not.
  10. Thanks To everyone that responded. You all responded faster than what I thought you would. I am going to look more into bakerman's system that hes got for sale and I don't end up getting that then I will probably look into ThatMauiWowie's suggestion. What do you guys think about Bakerman's system? would it be worth the money? Sounds like it Hit's Pretty hard. And i still need to get a head unit. any other suggestions about that?
  11. I would like 3 subs. maybe 12's or 15's. Will probably put them in my 95 Torus or my 01 Durango.
  12. I would like 3 subs. maybe 12's or 15's. Will probably put them in my 95 Torus or my 01 Durango. Not sure how much power, But enough to pound.
  13. Ok, Well I am new around here and to the whole car systems. I have no knowledge whatsoever. I am a Big fan of the Bass. It just kind of relaxes me. Well, I figured I would ask around for some help building my 1st system. I have seen some of your guy's builds and they seem to be amazing. For now I am willing to spend $400-$500. I would love a system that I can really feel the bass and enjoy it. Thanks In Advance. .NeT P.S. If this is the wrong section I am sorry.
