  1. I just got the IntelliCHArGer 1005E from my friend to refresh my XS Power batteries.

    I got 6500 3100 and 5100.

When i charged the D6500 by it self i noticed that it skipped the stage 1 of the charging and went to stage 2.

I could see that because i set the charge rate to 15A and the meter on the IntelliCHArGer when up to 15A and went down 2 sec after to a bit above 0AMP .

    Is it OK ?

Also i want to know on how much charge rate should i charge this batteries got 5A 15A 20A ? I set it to 15A for now.

  2. i installed the sub inverted and played again on the area that i hear the noise the loudest i can see a straight Square shaped of gray

paint on the voice coil i couldn't take a picture off it because i can see it only when i play a track.

it is where one of the leads going to the coil not the same lead as before its different lead

is it out of align ?

is it hard to fix that kind of problem ?

  3. this is a video you can hear what i am talking about: the buzzing sound isn't from a bad recording that what i hear when the subs operates

    http://youtu.be/IcCz63rBEpI

also i noticed that the cone and spider connecting place on one side of the sub is dry or failed apart could it be the reason ?

here is a picture of the dry side:

and here the other side for compression:

this picture is for the leads mark couldn't get clear picture off it.

  4. this are the specs

    1.5 cuft net.

    16 inch^2 per cubic feet

    tuned to 34hz,

here is the Google sketch file if it helps.

    just click on download above.

ill try to upload a video so you guys can hear it too,

    this is my setup:

    Hertz HSK 165XL

    Celestra FA475x
    DC Audio 3.5K
DC Audio level 5 12 inch
XS Power 6500 on the front.
XS Power 3100 on the back.
Knukonceptz 0 gauge an 10 gauge OFC wire.

    110 AMP alternator

  5. i noticed today that my sub making a rattling sound and hit noise when i crack the volume up.

i didn't touched the gain for a while and the noises come when i am on high volume.

it wast like this before i must say.

so i took the sub from the box to see i i can hear from where this noise is coming.

didn't hear nothing special i noticed that one of the leads is kinda touching the cone and there is

    leads marks on the cone.

when i play the sub all volume up on free air i don't hear hitting sound only low rattling sound

when i put it back i can hear something hitting or hitting sound and rattling on a bit low volume.

Ive also checked the cooling hole on the bottom if there is a FOD in it didn't find nothing and the sub looks aligned.

    what can it be ?

is it possible the spider lost there stiffness and i am hitting now the XMAS ?

Or is it the box fault ? too much port area ? or the port area is too little ?

  6. Ive finished my install on my car finally on the first day of 2013.

Here is quick overview over what i got in the car for now.

    Hertz HSK 165XL

    Celestra FA475x

    And ....

    DC Audio 3.5K

DC Audio level 5 12 inch on 1.5 cubic feet net box .

XS Power 6500 on the front.

XS Power 3100 on the back.

2 runs off 0 gauge OFC wire.

This a picture of the install my car is a Seat Ibiza 2011 SC most of you wont be familiar with this car because its not sold on the US

and i don't live in the US (Israel).

I got still some more space for bigger box.

I want to try to build a 4th order for this box a few months from now.

This is the score i got for now on quarter of the gain didnt do a sound deadning yet on the back and i am on

a stock alternator for now (110AMP).

And thanks to DC Audio for the good start of the new year :)

  7. Thanks CJ ! your comment much aprecited !.

I will run it on 1 ohm 3,500W. I understand that i case of lack of power from the electricity people overcome that by increasing the box volume.

What port area per foot u guys recommend that ill aim for or what is the range that can do with the Level 5 ?

Also i thought to build the box from Birch Plywood what u guys think about that ?

  8. the size looks about right if the amp is running at around 1 ohm. i would NOT do 2.5 ft. ive done extensive texting with a lvl 5 12 and a 3.5k dc amp and when it was loudest was at 1.6 cube and a single 6" aero that was 30 inches long.

online thing i might suggest is drop the port size...which will drop the port length down a bit to try to keep the sub as responsive as possible.

other than that you should be ok.

Thanks ! saw your old vid with the level 5 and 3.5k, your comment much aprecited !.

Ill sit on the design again and comeback with the results.

Basically want to build ported box for my level 5 m2 12 inch, that tuned to 33HZ when the sub and port are upward. my max dimensions are: Height 21 Width 35 Depth 18. I want to save trunk space and build the sub as little on the bottom surface and more to the height kinda. My problems is how much net volume and port area i need to aim for and what else i need to pay attention.

I am listening all kinds of music rap dubstep ruck metal classic rock and classic music too.

    Here is my setup:

    Level 5 m2 12inch

    DC audio 3.5k

2 xs power batteries 5100 and 3100 on the back

    110AMP alternator for now.

Do to my lack off high output alternator and kinda poor electricity what you guys think the box should be.

Ohh and i gonna run 2 1/0 guage from front to the back. Maby ill put much bigger battery on the front if there will be place for it.

Also my car is small 3 doors hot htach Seat Ibiza Sc 2011 i know that there is no Seat brand on the us but is a VW brand basically.

Ive asked Mechman about alternator for my car its kinda tricky because the car doesn't exist on the US and the big question is will VW Golf or Passt alternators will fit on it,

I hope my bad English didnt cofused you guys.

  9. Here is my setup:

    Level 5 m2 12inch

    DC audio 3.5k

2 xs power batteries 5100 and 3100 on the back

    110AMP alternator for now

what is the recommended box volume do i need to do for my setup ?

and how much port area you think i need ?

I will design it on Torres' Box Tuning Calculator so if u can give me what to look after when i will build it and what measurements like

Net volume port area and other thing ill need to have.
