  1. i am impressed with the bench testing results for that, and 0.5 ohm stable is great! only problem i see is that i doubt it will still be available after i get my alternator sorted. if it is, id love it, if he would ship it over here. if not, may just order 1 from Germany. If you have the money in your hand, try to coneect Twistid its 520 pounds + shipping against 990 pounds + shipping. Think you have to pay arround 50-70 for shipping from the US. PS. price German E-bay is 1118 + shipping Sorry not 520 its lesser, 520 is 850 $, if i srolled down i saw Twistid want 800 $ unfortunately i dont have the cash to hand right now, and if i did, it would go ona an alternator 1st. ill have to see what is around at the time when i have some amp money i guess.

  3. my subs are dual 1.4's, would the 7.5k run happily at 0.35ohm daily? obviously power supply will be up to scratch by the time i get one of these. guessing with box rise and all that it should be fine. sure i have read on here people running them that low. Thanks
  4. well i got a bit bored and wanted some more. moved the amps and changed the port. got an extra 49 square inches, and it is quite a lot more brutal. future plans are the alternator. thats next on my list of things to do. and then upgrade the amps. what would you guys recomend feeding these subs? i was thinking a sundown 3500 to each one. would they take more than that tho as people run those amps on the XL's. what would the Lv 5 take daily?
  5. another video, the cup idea i saw someone on here do, so i borrowed it! gunna extend the port soon and lower tuning, see how that goes.
  6. Video: this was with only 2 batts in, ill get another 1 soon, it got a fair bit louder and flexier with the other 2. and notice the drivers door wide open too
  7. I need to get some more power from a new alt, then when i have a bit of cash i want to upgrade to the DC amps. would love to give them 5k each, but probably more likely to get the 3.5k ones. the box works out roughly 12 cubes after displacements
  8. if your gunna do it......... may as well do it right
  9. Ah, I was curious about it because I was wondering about the rigidity of your box. I'm doing mine in a very similar way except I am going to be doing 2 layers of mdf under the fiberglass to have it be stronger. What is it tuned to? it was tuned to 31 when i built it, but since then i reduced the port by 1.5 inches, so now tuned a tad higher. its stiff as hell, there is soo much fiberglass in there, and its braced with the 2 lenghts of threaded bar too. i did have kickers in the box before, and when i put these in i had to remove the baffle and amp pannel, and it was really hard to get them out, and they were just glassed in, not glassed over. before the DC's went in, i added another 15 KG of resin, and i dont know how much CSM with it, but is bloody thick!
  10. i just fiberglassed strait into the boot, i wasnt worried about it being removable. altho i do kinda wish it was because now its permanent its very hard to change/alter/tweak the box.
  11. Hi there, im from the UK, and just thaught id show you my install. its in a MK6 ford escort, and theres 2 level 5 18's in the boot amps are 2 SPL Dynamics S2000-D's power from 4 Hawker genesis batteries under the bonnet, and at the moment just a stock alternator. its a bit of a different box, here r some pics. the start of the box: Baffle and port section made, with the amps test fitted pretty tight some batteries and cable Finished (nearly) i had it tested a while ago, it did a 148.1 @ 36hz pretty happy with it, but my target it 150+ looking to get the alt done asap, and hoping that will give me some gains. what do you all think?
