  1. They won't let me change the schedule, I told the manager which two people could cover my shift and not go over on hours and she gave me this shitty look. So I literally said fuck it I guess I'll try and work right in front of her. When I go in I'm gonna put in on the request off book that I want 3-4 days off so I can actually sleep and get rest. And doing these doubles are putting me at 80+ a week. I already have sleeping problems to begin with before all this went down.

  2. Alright I have been working 7 days a week for the last 10 weeks pulling 60-70 hours a week between two jobs with 0 days off at all. At my more imptortant job one of the dispatchers is sick and will be in the hospital for a few days, I had called off at my one job so I can come in to work. And I tried asking the manager at my shitty job for the next two days off so I can just work my better job and I told her what was going on but she said no I'm not aloud to take 2 more days off I have to work them. And I don't know if I should pull 2 or more doubles again because I'm already at the point of sleeping 13 hours a day, literally getting off work sleeping and as soon as I wake up I'm off to work within minutes. I'm practically blacking out through some days I don't really remember what day it is unless I look at my phone or a calander. I can't eat for shit everytime I eat I have to stop before I throw up. So you guys think I should do the doubles I'd be working 5pm to 7am for both days and I don't even know how many more times I have to do that until the guy comes back.

  3. And if you're gonna do dispatch I would look into getting you're EMD and or 911 Dispatch liscence. It would help alot because there's alot of things you can't say unless you're licensed that could potentially lead up to you and or you're company getting sued if something were to go south. Only saying that because I don't know if you knew or not, and it helps if anyone wants to look into Dispatch of any kind.

  4. Nice fix haha. You ninja'd me on it lol. And Dispatch is good and all but you get to deal with threats and stuff first hand and if you're the only dispatcher at the time it can get hectic. For example, one night I had all 7 lines lit up, falling behind on my and dispatching 3 SQ's while dispatching the ambulettes. That night sucked ass lol. I had to call every company in the city to respond to calls and had to sit on a few. Obviously the less serious calls. But atleast at the center there's more dispatchers but it still can get very hectic. And I'm trying to get into one lol.

  5. That's cool, we have all have a lot of similar codes but depends on the area and city. I know alot of people that say the job is easy for both fields but honestly it's not, I'm sure you're dad would say the samething.

But seeing as though you've grown or is growing up around it it would be easier for you since you know what the job is really about. Me on the other hand I just jumped right into it almost right after highschool and I thought I was gonna hate it but I love it at times (Even I have gotten threats and been told "I'm gonna blow you're building up and kill everyone that works there") but I'm 18 going on 19 and everyone thought I wasn't gonna last but 6 or 7 months later I'm still here doing better and getting more used to the severity of the calls. And I can say I had no clue what I was getting into but the job security and training are well worth it and that goes for everyone that works in the EMS field and Police field.

  6. I'll listen in when I have a chance but the city is going to hell. My crew that went out on those calls just went on another drunk call and is now at a bar for a 10-84 (MVA) with one injury, PT hit by car slumped over unconscious uncotrolled bleeding and now conscious. Got calls from the city to respond and the county to respond. Good thin that SQ was already in the area.
