  1. When they say a set of components, you know they mean 2 woofers and 2 tweeters right?

If aligned correctly, one set can get pretty loud. I don't know if they would "keep up" with a couple 12's or 15's, but they would do pretty well IMO.

The headroom from running 2 sets would be nice though. Are you fiberglassing your doors?

Most car audio comp sets are 4 ohms.

  2. Get a 2 channel amp, like a sundown sax 125.2 and run each side off it's own channel. The crossover will distribute the power. All you have to do is set the subsonic/high-pass filter on the amp to your liking and the crossover will take care of the rest.

Edit: Oops my bad, didn't see you said 2 sets of the comps.

  3. well i hope he enjoys his time in prison glad the child is fine though just s shitty situation though not going to have it real parents obviously better of with out his dad though

To be honest, i think he will get off. He has pulled out the "mentally unstable" card.

That claiming insanity shit is fucking bullshit in my eyes. Not that he isn't mentally unstable, but they can't just let him go because of it. Send him to a hospital, right where everyone like him belongs. Previous court rulings will help his side of the situation, but i hope to god that he doesn't go back out into society soon. Too much feeling sorry and excusing them for their "helplessness".

  4. i tend to simply ignore people who think you need a certain port area for the size of the box.

you need port area based on what woofers are in the box, and how much displacement they have!

you could probably get away with a single 6inch round flared port and not be able to hear any port noise from inside the car, but 3 4inch round ports would be better.

of course, I don't actually expect anyone from this forum to agree

Yup, pretty much says it. Port area is determined from the total amount of air the woofer(s) can potentially displace.
