  1. A little late but i gotta say that's an awesome score man. 281 over four days is phenomenal! I play college golf also
  2. Get the XL's based on the fact that the solo x is being discontinued.
  3. The larger coil allows for more power handling, and i think they are saying 1500 rms rather than the 1000 with the 3 incher.
  4. When they say a set of components, you know they mean 2 woofers and 2 tweeters right? If aligned correctly, one set can get pretty loud. I don't know if they would "keep up" with a couple 12's or 15's, but they would do pretty well IMO. The headroom from running 2 sets would be nice though. Are you fiberglassing your doors? Most car audio comp sets are 4 ohms.
  5. Didn't catch that you wanted 2 sets of components. Why 2 sets though?
  6. The set should come with it's own wires to run from the tweets and woofer to the crossover, but for the crossover to the amp i would just go with some 12 gauge.
  7. Get a 2 channel amp, like a sundown sax 125.2 and run each side off it's own channel. The crossover will distribute the power. All you have to do is set the subsonic/high-pass filter on the amp to your liking and the crossover will take care of the rest. Edit: Oops my bad, didn't see you said 2 sets of the comps.
  8. Well you're gonna have to pay a good price to get an amp that does 1500 @2 ohms. You can go that route or you can try to wire down to .5 but pay more for your electrical upgrades.
  9. That rockford amp is a great choice for a 2 ohm amp @ around 1000 watts.
  10. My guess is your low pass is set way too high.
  11. Ebay and paypal have pretty good buyer protection, so i would go for it.
  12. I love threads like this. It gets my head full of new ideas.
  13. Sentence him to death by making him sit in an extreme spl vehicle during a 180 db burp run (or maybe even having his head in the port
