  1. Ok, I screwed up on my box and it won't fit in my trunk. Its only a couple of inches stopping it from going in. The original plan was to have subs facing the back of the car along with the port, but the only way i've found to put it is long ways with the subs facing the side of the car. My only other option is setting it in the back seat. Would it sound shitty firing to the side of the car?

  2. You can run everything off of the front channel you just wont be able to fade front to rear, which most people dont do anyway.

Some amps like my Cadence C9, you can run one set of RCA into it and it will take the setting from channel 1 and 2 and dupilcate it on channels 3 and 4. Some cannot do this and in that case just buy you a couple y splitters. You will need two 1female 2male y-splitters.

It has the same exact settings on both sides, 2 gains, 2 hpf filters etc.

  3. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone on here who has helped me out, but I need some more please. Ok so today I went and picked up my 4 SoundStream t-4 15's, SoundStream Pca 2000d, Clarion Apx4240, battery cap, and capacitor(the only reason there is a capacitor because it was free). I need you all to help make sure you don't see anything wrong with how this is all getting wired up. I drive a 02 Accord it has a stock 105 amp alternator and the big three has already been done. I have 0 gauge running from the Optima Red Top under the hood back to the battery cap in the trunk. It is going to be fused at the battery under the hood with a 250 amp fuse and then again after the battery cap with a fused 250 amp d-block. The d-block will have 2 four gauge wires with one going to each amp. The 2 amps will be grounded with another d-block going back to 0 gauge. I am only going to be running 2 of the 15's wired down to 1 ohm at 2000w RMS.

They only have about 3 cubic feet each after displacement. The box is tuned to 34hz. All of my grounds have been sanded down to bare metal.

MY QUESTIONS: 1. Should I even use the cap?

    2. The clarion has settings for the front and rear with 2 rca inputs. Do I have to run 2 sets of rca's to run both door and rear speakers? I have 2 sets of rca's ran, but I was going to use one for the subs and one for mids and highs.

    3. Do you see any thing that could be done better?

  4. i could work up a box that would be 7 cubes after displacement to go into that spot which would be on the small side for 2 15's but not out a problem.

    18x38x26

    port 16.5x5.25x21

single baffle (cause you're not talking about beasts here and they'll be mounted so that the top and bottom are damn near touching the top and bottom of the box)

port would go all the way down 1 side till 5.25" from the back with a 1" piece to go along the back

    tuning about 34 hz.

    have fun!

Are you saying put the port on the same side as the subs? Because I can mount them facing up or facing them towards the trunk? This is just temporary until it gets warm and I can wall my accord off :) Thanks

mount em however you want. but on a single sub setup, putting the subs on the narrowest possible side maximizes baffle strength.

if you put em on the wideer side (the top in this case) put a 1" dowel top to bottom to strengthen it.

Alright, I will put them facing the trunk and I should be able to make the width a little bit wider so I have a little extra room. Btw, I just looked at your build and it looks awesome lol. How did you learn so much about car audio? I've been reading everything I can find about it to help improve my knowledge on it. I'm 16 so this is my first system.

i learned doing what you just did and are going to do.

reading logs and making my own.

I will try to start my build log on Friday once I go pick everything up, but this setup is just temporary until I find a after school job.
