I cant decide if i want 1 15 or 2 12s.
What are some advantages and disadvantages to having either? thanks
2 12"s, don't let anyone tell you 15's get lower and louder than 12"s for that is not true, build a proper enclosure for some beefy ass 12s and be amazed

Oh yah -- well then I suspect they'll be here soon *laughs*
Forgot what month it was for the win
have another one for me

They are sold out until our motors arrive around end of June.
end of june? you mean july?

I am new to the DC company and have NEVER built anything for them. I have always mastered the more public names out there so this will be a first with them. But with that being said every woofer is different, so I am looking for the sweet number of DC.....This is going in a car, in the trunk and not for lanes....just "WOW" factor.
I have (2) DC XL 15's D.07 coming soon... (well how everything is going hopefully soon) I plan on running a 2.0k on each at 1.4 ohms or a 5k for both at 2.8....My question at hand is what is the recommended port area for 2 in a common chamber, and whats the smallest I can build the enclosure to?
My original idea is 7.25 cubes after woofer and port displacement with (4) 6 inch ports 19 inches long....
What are some other options.......
getting loud with two 10" or 12" subs is more of a wow factor to me than getting loud with 2 15"s or 1 18, that's just my opinion.

You need bigger cones too

You are not getting 1600 out of that planet. Lol
How bout maybe 900 Maybe
agreed ^^ hes getting way less then 900 even.. my friend had the biggest planet audio amp.. i think the 3000? and it was only doing like 1400 @ 1ohm maybe less..
it's one of the old planet audios if that matters? idk if they are like some other companies where their old stuff was good but their new stuff is shit?
yeah the new stuff isnt the greatest.. not sure about the old stuff. and i dont think its even safe to run those at .5
so far it's doing just fine, the subs don't like it though.

really? I didn't know they were such bad amps, not my amp, not my problem lol, i'll stick with my trusty crescendo

planets are clipville in the first place. what amps giving 700 to highs? im giving almost 600 in highs and my shit is rediculous.
it's a hollywood excursion amp, might not be 700rms right now, but at good voltage it should put out about 600-700rms
-
Turn the gains down. Squares are bad for subs.
it's at half gain also
-
he's more than likely clipping the subs if they're getting hot after just 10 minutes of play. why did he get dual 2 coils instead of dual 4?
he couldn't pass up the offer, 200 for both new.
understandable. what voltage is he dropping to when playing music?
12.1 from idle at 13.5, he's also running about 700rms worth of mids and highs.

Ok so my friend is running two skar audio VVX-12's on a planet audio 1250D at .5 ohm, on completely stock electrical, i've heard of people giving the subs a clean 1000rms a piece without any issues, I noticed that with these subs i'm guessing they are getting about 800rms a piece and they get very hot and a little smelly after about 10min of playtime. Can an amp at .5 ohm send a clipped signal if its being ran lower than its rated ohm load and if it's not getting proper power to run at .5 ohm? Like if he runs an SAZ3500D at 2 ohms with good electrical and we clamp it at 1600rms for both subs will we get the same results or will they run cooler and not get smelly?

Lvl 2 ninja swap?
LOLOLOLOL

are you sure those are level 3s? the level 3s i had the surround went right to the dustcap and was bigger then that, to fix your issue make your box smaller
maybe your lvl 3s are older than his? on the website the lvl 3s look like the ones in his pictures.

Passive, you use the crossover supplied with most components they split the signal from on channel into two diff sets of fequencys using crossover high of tweeter and mid for midrange , Active crossovers you need an amp for each set of frequencys a amp for tweeters and a amp for mids , ( some 4 channel amps have 4 channel input ) make sence or have I made it worse ?
makes sense to me
-
what's the dif between pass/active?
uhmm I believe active is when you have each speaker hooked up individually like a tweeter per channel than the speakers to the other two channels, correct me if i'm wrong.
-
how bout you ask your facebook friends to vote
he doesn't have any
-
ahhhh so I can run 2300rms to one of those beasts daily
-
I think powerbass is like a lot of other companies out there, they have ok stuff, good stuff, then fucking amazing stuff lol, like for example rockford has prime, punch, and power, each series is more expensive, better quality, and more powerful.
-
my powerbass asa1500.1d is a badass amp!! i dont like rf at all
not hating on powerbass, but do you have any experience with rockford? if so you should try some of their products and hear what real quality is
-
They ain't scary but there so fast it shocks you when they come out
yeah lol i was getting something out of the fridge the other day and a damn mouse ran over my feet from under the fridge, i was gay for 5 seconds

some FI SSD 12's would go good on that power, or some DC lvl 4's
