  1. Sweet, thanks. So, are these subs as shitty as I always thought they are? I loved the extreme subs before this generation, the ones with the chrome basket that said PBX in the middle, this generation seems like such a cheap sub.
  2. the specs in the manual were for a 27.5 hz tune, maybe I will just run with that one. But I was thinking maybe a sick bandpass or something like that. What program could I use to plug in the parameters?
  3. I'm building an enclosure for 2 15" Powerbass 3XL's, need something that will murder some lows. Anybody have any experience with these? I have 49 wide, 23 tall, and however deep I want to go.
  4. Wasn't sure if I should post it here,(with all the verbal beating JL takes here), but screw it, I'm excited! The vid in my sig is the complete build log a beast of a Suburban I did over a year ago.
  5. Cool, I emailed you guys through your website, I was wondering what was going on, lol. I look forward to hearing back from you guys.
  6. under load would be with everything on(headlights, heat/ac on high, current sub amp playing at max), or something that creates a current draw, some cars will idle at 13-14v, but under load from an amp that draws about 100 amps, they drop down to 10.5-11v. Idle with nothing on is exactly what it says, car running at idle with no electronics on.
  7. Call my man Billy at DeTech Customs in Detroit, you'll love what you see over there, he owns/painted the Magnum I had posted last week. They're the sickest around. De Tech Customs 10015 Greenfield Rd, Detroit, MI 48227 (313) 838-7467
  8. boooooooooooooo! Its pretty unfortunate that detox will never live up to the hype its created over the past friggin 10 years. So far between this and Kush, I'm already disspointed...
  9. They took the steering wheel off!!!!! thats all i know.. exactly what happened is this: me-hey, you think we can do a alarm/remote start 2 way on a 08 sprinter? My installer- oh yeah, just have him bring it down, me - you sure?, him - no problem... yeah, then came taking everything possible apart to get to the ignition to take it apart and solder 2 wires in, one of which had to go on a surface mounted component that was microscopic in size....you know, I could bitch all night about this one, just look at the pic of the dash...even with all that said, we managed to knock it out in a respectable amount of time, first times a bitch, though...
  10. Wow, that was intense, but we overcame, put a Excalibur 1830 2way in an 08 Mercedes(dodge) Sprinter. Had to take EVERYTHING apart, we took off the steering wheel too, but next time we'll know better, lol. Took about 3.5 hours for our first time at it, next one should go WAY quicker...
  11. I've had good luck putting the enclosure as far rear as possible, firing foward, but trimmed off like a wall, so no sound or pressure goes behind the enclosure. I'll dig up some pics of the 70 Chevelle I did that in.
  12. looks good, check out my buddy's, converted to rear wheel drive with a LS6 drivetrain, just nasty.
  13. Here's lots of pics for you pic-hungry guys, first the magnum, then onto the Tahoe in the other post... This is what it looked like when it got to me, poor fit & finish, enclosures to lord know what spec, suede peeling off from using the wrong vinyl, etc, etc..
  14. They probably drive better too, but that thing started with 24's, then 26's, now 28's. 30's are the next logical progression, but I hope not, lol.
  15. Yeah, we were all joking about them because the magnet is almost as big as the one on the ten, and where the hell did they get 700 watts from? lol, but they seriously sound amazing, but then again, for as big as they are, they better be as least loud.
  16. A little project we did for one of my installers, sounds great running of a PPI PCX2200, but we probably need to go with a big 4 channel and go active with the crossovers, the QSD216 passives are hurting with the power we're putting to them. Cheap and effective set up considering the tweets were $15 ea, and they SCREAM! Had to att. them -6db to smooth it out, they were way too bright at 0.
