  1. So should I sell my mono and get a 5 channel, or buy a 4 channel and hook up a second amp to my battery? What 5 channel amp would you guys recommend, and sorry retta, looking to only buy new equipment.
  2. Yeah, the thing is, If I turn my hu to anything over 35 volume out of 50 it starts sounding distorted, I want to power the speakers more so the music is louder my hu is only really pushing 16x4, and the speakers are rated at 60w rms, which means they need more power if I want them to sound cleaner at higher volumes.
  3. Right now I've got 4 speakers and a Rockford p3 Shallow mount 12" subwoofer, I'm trying to find a 5 channel amp That I can match with it so I don't need to run a separate amp with the speakers. The speakers are as follows: 2 6x8" Infinity( Planning on replacing these with new speakers)60w Rms 240w max 2 6x9" Alpine Type E 80w Rms 240w max The subwoofer is a Rockford p3 Shallow mount 12" Subwoofer rated at 400 Rms 800w Max Can anyone help me with an amplifier? I was looking at an amplifier that would provide the perfect wattage for my speakers, but only 250w to my subwoofer, would the sub still be powered enough? Also, if I were to not want to get a new amplifier, is there anyway I can add my 4 speakers to the amp i'm currently running, which is a Polk audio 880 Monoblock amp It's currently powering only the subwoofer, but would it even be possible to add the speakers to the amp, or will I need a second amp, or replace my current one with a 5 channel. Advice appreciated, -Dom
  4. Good Idea, Lol. I don't Understand shit about car audio other than how to Hook up a system(which really isnt that hard).
  5. Alright, I'll just go with 2 Type R's then.
  6. So With doing a X-over it'd sound like I never had a Second sub put in at all?
  7. Is Crossing them over to play different frequencies a hard thing to do?
  8. Korey, wouldn't that only be the case if they were in the same box? I'd be running them with separate boxes, Since the Shallow Fits Nicely right behind my Back seat in the factory box from fosgate.
  9. Would the Amp I have power them alright though?
  10. Well I don't Know anyone who'd take the Shallow mount off my hands, so thats why I was planning on keeping it. What Do you mean by weird noises?
  11. Alright, for the past 6 months or so I've been running a Rockford P3 Shallow mount in my 2001 Mazda Protege because I used to have it in my truck, but the truck got destroyed , so I've been dealing with this sub for now, I finally have the money to add another Sub to my system, but I'm afraid if I add the sub I want to, it will strain my amp. So Here's the Question... I'm currently using this amp: Polkaudio 880 Monoblock Amplifier http://www.polkaudio.com/caraudio/pa/index.php?s=pa880_1 And This is the Sub I'm Using: Rockford P3S Shallow Mount Subwoofer http://www.crutchfield.com/s_575P3LS12/Rockford-Fosgate-P3L-S12.html?tp=112 Is It possible for Me to add this sub to my system without needing to purchase another Amplifier? 12" Alpine Type R SWR-1243D http://www.crutchfield.com/s_500SWR1243/Alpine-SWR-1243D.html?search=alpine+type+r Here's the Specs on the Amplifier and the Two Subwoofers: PA880 Monoblock Amplifier: 300 Watts x 1 (4 Ohm), 500 watts x 1 (2 Ohm). CEA-2006 compliant specifications for true, accurate power ratings. 800 watts x 1 (2 ohm) dynamic power. Rockford P3L-S12 Shallow Subwoofer: Frequency Response 43-250 Hz Power Range (Watts RMS) 100-400 Maximum Wattage 800 Sensitivity 86 dB Impedance 4 ohms And The Subwoofer I'd like to Add: Alpine Type-R SWR-1242D 12" Subwoofer requency response: 24-200 Hz power handling: 300-600 watts RMS (300 watts per coil) peak power: 1,800 watts sensitivity: 85 dB Impedance 4 ohms Please Help me out here guys, I'd like to Add This Sub If Both these Subwoofers wont Run off this 1 Amp, Please Tell me an Amp that will push both of the Subwoofers Nicely. Thanks, -Dominic
