  1. cm^2 divided by 6.45 gets you the cone area in in^2. The cone area is measured flat across the woofer, not the actual area of the concave cone that is being used.
  2. Thanks guys. It is a little different than just doing a straight line with no loading chamber, but I like how the small loading chamber that feeds into the line with a big 45 works out. It allows you to put a little more power to the sub, and use subs that you normally may not want to use in a t-line.
  3. This is a transmission line enclosure for a RF T0 10" subwoofer. The line is tuned to 40hz, and poly-fill will be added to drop the tuning and tame resonances if needed. Dimensions: 32"x12"x12" Tuning: 40hz
  4. This is a BP box for Chris, aka Stetch on the forums, and his eight 12" Definitive Audio Designs BD woofers. All of this will be going in his 2000 Explorer Sport(tight fit, eh?). Each sealed chamber is 5.75ft^3, with a 20ft^3 common ported chamber tuned to 42hz. Bracing was not drawn in, but displacements were accounted for. The goal here was a loud groundpounder with the ability to play the 25-50hz range efficiently. Volume: dual 5.75ft^3 firing into 20ft^3 Tuning: 42hz Dimensions: 43"wide x 36" tall x 52" deep
  5. Do 4ft^3 with a 32hz tuning and 55in^2 of port.
  6. I ship mine through FedEx and have never had any issues...plus FedEx account = great prices. I was able to ship 100lb batts for $20 less than UPS with my FedEx account.
  7. There's a ton of room in the Ram single cab trucks, compared to others. I've seen a pair of 12's done in one.
  8. This design is for Mr. Landon Bridges and his DD 9512 woofer. He had limited space to work with in his new Camaro, but wanted a good "daily" box as well as a good "burp" box that he could use for competition. Solution? Make a box with swappable slot ports, of course! Volume: 2.25ft^3 for daily, 2.4ft^3 for spl Tuning: 32hz and 45hz Dimensions: 30" wide x 13" tall x 28" deep
  9. The owner will have a lot of power on tap, that's the main reason for going with a slightly smaller box than I usually would. So, although the smaller volume reduces efficiency across pretty much the entire bandwidth, he has the power to make up for it.
  10. Please email me at [email protected], as I will probably not be checking this thread much, other than to bump it. Thanks. I'm interested in grabbing some nice "old school" Eclipse Premium amps. Let me know what you have and what you're asking for them. Pics are a must, mint condition is a plus.
  11. If you can up your budget a little, I have a NIB Eclipse XA1000 for $125 shipped.
  12. This is a box for a single Sundown Audio SA-8 woofer. Since the chamber is so small, the port needs to be considerably longer than normal to maintain a low tuning while still providing adequate port area. As you can see, some dead space had to be used to drop the volume a little. Volume: .55ft^3 Tuning: 33hz Dimensions: 30" wide x 10" tall x 11" deep
  13. Those 8" ports will need to be pretty long to keep that 32hz tuning, especially since your volume is going to drop a little as well with the larger ports. Are you getting those flared 8"ers that one of the forum members is making/selling?
  14. Could you give us some more details on your setup?
  15. Take a router or some sandpaper to the port openings in order to give them a rounded opening. Be sure to do this on the inside as well.
  16. You tune higher with a bandpass box. The volumes used in each chamber are determined by the subs being used and the end result(response curve) that you're looking for.
  17. I'm interested as well. I tried to convince him to do either four 18's or six 15's, but he wanted to do six 18's...so I just made due with what I had to work with.
  18. Yet another design for Mr. Jonatan Cortes. This box will be going in the back of his Toyota 4Runner. Six(yes six) 18" DC Level 4's will be used in this setup...inverted. The box is double layered all around, and 2x4 bracing will be used on the outside of the box as well. Volume: 7.25ft^3 per sealed chamber, 21.25ft^3 ported chamber Tuning: 46hz Dimensions: odd
  19. They're actually pretty decent subs if you can find them for the right price.
  20. I didn't even know that they had 3-layer plywood.
