  1. ive been buying on ebay since 2000 and ive only had 2 problems where people didnt ship and i got my money back from paypal on both cases... ebay is a great place and they do try to police the sellers to make sure we buy from honest people.... but then again they cant catch everything and if its too good to be true then well...it normally is...and also..i would never buy anything from anywhere with out detailed photos of the actual item

  2. sorry but if you can't get loud in a reg cab then you won't get loud in a blow through either.

do 2 10's ported behind the seat it will do 150 easy

    its loud...very loud.. i just want more speakers....im thinking maybe 5kwatts either 2 18's or maybe 4 15's

if you want a blowthrough with 2 18s or 4 15's you will have to get very creative with how you build your box because your still limited with the height of the back wall of your bed

i think i was pretty creative with the box i have now it about 3cubes sealed behind the seat...ive never heard of anyone fitting a kicker L7 15 in a single cab truck and still being able to use all the seats....im just skeptical about the sound ill get

  3. thanks for the video mate, I was wondering how I was going to smash the terminals, didn't think of using a vice. Going to watch the video if I need help lol ;)

the first time i tried it i got about 4 done with my vice then on the 5th my vice broke (was cheap) so to finish i used a hammer and about 2-3 good well aimed wacks did just fine... in the vid thats my new vice and that bad boy will never break...its over 80 yrs old.. and you probably can get better deals online for ring terminals but nothing is a better conductor than copper

  4. just a suggestion...

I myself own a dc audio 175.4 amp and i love it. the quality is very good, only complaint is the settings for band pass since its directed toward subs, not door speakers which is no big deal to me but i love the quality and how well it performs. Maybe a dc audio 2k will do justice for you. They rate it at 2000 rms at 1 ohm which personally i think you should do because like everyone on here you will always get more subs/speakers and bigger and better stuff in the future and buying amps all the time is a pain. From what a friend of mine on here said is that dc amps are under-rated quite a bit. Now i did not have my 175.4 clamped so i cannot say off hand that they are but i can imagine they are under-rated.

And just to clarify, you are wiring them im parallel too. If both your coils on the sub are dual 2 ohms like you said then you would wire it in parallel to get a 1 ohm load (positive of voice coil 1 to the positive on voice coil 2, negative of vc 2 to the neg on vc1. Just wanted to make sure you were aware of that.

yeah im going to wire them in parallel..not sure why i said in series....but money really isnt the problem and i dont want to buy a cheap amp..im looking for something that matches my sub...and no i wont get more subs or mono amps...this is going in my single cab truck and i can only fit 1 sub back there

  5. Ok guys i have a dilema...i have a kicker L7 15" 2ohms... plan on wiring the voice coils in series to get 1 ohm... but im stuck on what amp i should use to power it... i was looking at kickers 1k watt 1 ohm amps but i just cant decide...would that be a good choice? any reccomendations would be much appreciated!!

  6. personally i would not run the wire through the fuse box.... use your own fuse block. 300 amp fuse on each end of the + from battery to battery.

x2 i edited my post to say that. when he said he had a 150 amp fuse i didn't know he meant the stock fuse, i thought he added a fuse block in that spot. then i realized he meant the factory fusing. So ya, i'd use ur own fuse block..

I will definatley up grade when i get that far along ..thanks for the info

  7. Yes i did ground the engine block to the frame...its on the other side of the engine bay, you just cant see it in the pic...and as for the alt wire going to the fuse box it has a 130a fuse there and ive seen people saying you should fuse it and since it was factory fused i just let it be....am wrong in doing that? i thought it would be smart to fuse that line to the alt... and of course i sanded down to bare metal on all connections

No no your fine with the fuse. Okkk I didn't know u had a fuse there. I couldn't see it in the pic. I thought u were going to the factory fuse box, like the stock location...and i was thinking the stock fuse/wiring would be much to small for a high current wire. but you've done it perfectly then.

So did u decide which way to wire your battery?

I read the faq's at kinetik site and they say to wire both + and - from the front batt to the rear batt terminals.... im guessing i can get away with just the + from the front batt to the rear...i dont like the idea of wiring straight from the alt to the rear... it will be 1/0 of course

  8. 9. I plan on putting 2000 watts in my truck and using kinetics 2000watt batt...this battery will be hooked up in the rear and i will still have the other battery to run the truck...will this battery charge just like my stock battery? ive never run dual batterys before so im kinda clueless...thanks for any help

How are you planning to wire it? You can do a run of 0 gauge wire from the + on the batt under the hood all the way back to the kinetic, and then ground the kinetic to the frame.. OR you can run a 0 gauge wire from your alternator to the kinetic in the trunk and ground it to the frame. Both ways will allow it to charge from the alt. Do u have the big 3 done though?

yeah i just finished the big 3
