anyways... i had sonys as my 1st subs too... dont underestaimate them... put them in a poperly designed/built encolosure and they could get loud...

Maybe yeah but i've pushed it to the limits any times and it never blew up and well yeah you're quite right bout that at first i also thought that these things dont work very well but it is quite a powerfull sub for its size and model (it is a 2007 sub)

i have a suzuki hatch too... you should put your sub in a wooden box, will go so much harder...

i know man but this cardboard was just a try for some fun and experiment. I'll be getting a wooden box soon enough.

How do you make your 12' slam a 1000 watts when your amp only puts out 600?

lol bro 600 watt is the power taken in and 1000 watt is the total sound power (the electricity is converted into sound)

I can put up a vid but to tell the truth my camera is very very bad and it wouldnt be any use to see a bad quality vid just wait for a few days i'll make a vid with a good camera and post it here

I Had sony xplods my first system, gotta start somewhere. Good touch on the cardboard.. now people wont know you have a system they will just think there is a vacuum coming out of your seats

Well it's a start and everyone starts somewhere, now you'll want to get some tools and make some enclosures for those 6.5's, 6x9's and sub.

6.5's are already is a small wooden enclosure. It just started when i got interested in this stuff and i decided to build the enclosure for some testing and fun and well it works quite well. I have plans for these holidays to build a proper enclosure for this sub. I'll update this post as soon as i make some changes.

Hey guys this is my build of a 1996 suzuki hatchback. It is not a very powerful system but it is a clean build and a very cheap one too. It is satisfyingly loud for the equipment and the sound quality is also very clean and good. and the interesting thing about it is that the sub box is made of cardboard but still it sounds good and hits hard. I'll post some pix here for you to see. I've braced the box with some wood outside the enclosure. The total specs of the system are

Kenwood MP4036u H/U

Pioneer 6/9" mids

2 6.5" mids

2 tweeters at the side

1 Sony Xplod 12" sub slamming a 1000 watts

1 Almani Al CH600 600 watt amp for the sub only

First the 6.5's were under the seats then i took em out and removed the backseat and put em there. The updated pix are in the "Changes in the system" Folder.

$6500 for a sub? Either you have found the worlds most expensive 12" sub or you forgot the decimal....I say the latter considering the $2500 box

Yeah man its just about the fun in doing experiments. Why I didnt build a wooden box is that if it had gone wrong all my money and wood would have been wasted so i took out the box of the vacuum cleaner from the store and made a hole in it and then added braces with some wood i already had and there you go. It sounds and feels really loud when it plays so whats better than that. I didnt spend any money on it and it still works well. But i'll be upgrading to a wooden box shortly. Its always good to do experiments as you always get to learn something new from them.

Thank you very much brother i'll be upgrading my sub amp and box very soon. Its just that all these things are really very very expensive so its hard to save up. The box will cost around 2500 and a 12" sub will be about 6500. But i have got some money to spend on it so i'll be doing it in the holidays very soon.

The full specs of my system are

Kenwood MP4036u H/U

1 Sony Xplod L120P5H 1000w hooked with an Almani 600 watt amp

Thats pretty much all for it

The box is actually made of cardboard you can see that it is a box of a vacuum cleaner but i have added wooden braces from the outside to sstop it flexing. I had two pieces of chipboard so i cut them and made the port with it Its quite light and it flexes quite a lot which wastes much power but still it works quite well. I get door flex with this sub and box. Also inside the mirror and anything on the dashboard starts shaking when it plays. It can handle very low frequencies quite well although it isnt designed for it. That pretty much all of my system. I am planning to build a proper wooden enclosure for it once my holidays start. I'll keep you guys updated on it

To reply to a post there is a button in the bottom right of their post that says 'reply' simply click that.

To reply to more than one post at one time, you can click the 'multiquote' button next to the 'reply' button for every post you want to reply to. after you selected them all go down to the bottom of the page, right under the last post is a button marked 'Add Reply' just hit that.

To upload pics get an account on photobucket.com and upload pics there. copy the IMG code for the pic you want to post and paste it into your response.

Brother i wouldve posted the vid of it but unfortunately i havent got a good quality camera. I only have a phone camera and its really bad. I'll post pix surely dont worry even though its hard to maintain that box it sounds loud enough for such a bad amp and an old woofer
