We can do a 270 amp unit for $549. Your local alternator shop is correct that the vehicle is externally regulated from the factory, but that has nothing to do with upgrading the alternator. Like most "ma & paw" local re builders, they probably just don't understand alternators very well. Thanks a lot for the reply,. I assume the 270 amp unit will be sufficient for what im trying to do?

Is there an alternator upgrade for a '99 chrysler lhs,3.5? A local alternator shop told me i could not upgrade the oem alternator because the voltage reg was not apart of the alternator but inside the comp,.is there any other option for my vehicle,. i only plan on running a 4500rms system? thanks
