  1. What're the dimensions of your box Nate? I may take you up on that. And it's going in the back of a Honda Pilot. I just need to keep enough room for 2 snowboards and a cargo organizer for my snow stuff. @Jezuz, is 1.76 net?
  2. I'm gonna shoot for 32-34 hz then. I'm gonna attempt to design a box myself to save some $$$. Should keep me busy for about an hour or so haha
  3. Alright. I listen to a lot of chopped and screwed, and a good bit of decaf's stuff, but if it's gonna have crap output above 50hz or around there, then I guess ~32 hz will work

  5. What I have now (old RF p2 12s) used flap and sound terrible in the ported box they're in now..it's rec airspace and tuned to 38 hz, but the port is stuffed now and they can get much lower. Just womderig if tuning lower would help with the flapping
  6. The subs won't lose control below 28 hz tuned at 33hz?
  7. If it's of any help, my eventual goal is to try some local drive by comps..no burping, just music.
  8. I'm ordering two level 3 12s, and just like the topic says I want to hear some opinions of box preference. I want a decent balance of spl and sq. I've heard a low tuned ported is the way to go, as it creates a flatter freq response curve than a ported tuned higher (28hz vs 38hz), but still gives some increased output at low levels. I stuffed the port of my current prefab box with foam and it drove the freq handling down noticeably. I want to be able to hit those low, "rumbling" frequencies. Can a properly designed and tuned box actually provide this? These subs will each be powered by a punch p500.1bd amp, both with rms around 700 watts.
  9. Old thread I know but can you airbrush the level 3s? Or put level 4 airbrushed dustcaps on em?
  10. I currently have a Punch P500-1bd amp birthed at 701 watts rms @ 1 ohm with ~2250 watt peaks. It is currently pushing two 2003 RF punch p2 12 SVC 4 ohm subs. I've decided to upgrade and go with DC subs, but I'm torn between the level 2 and level 3s. Budget is a huge factor, as I'm a college student with very little income, and a slim wallet as it is. That being said, would the level 2 15s take up a ton of room sealed? I'd like to go with 15s instead of 12s, but I drive a Honda pilot and snowboard, wakeboard, or mountain bike almost every weekend, so I need some trunk room. Also, if I went with level 3s I know i would need another amp...could I just get another P500 and run one amp to one sub? Thanks for any suggestions/advice. I really don't want to get rid of this amp either. It's clean, small, and with my HO alt and yellow top batt, it gets a constant solid power supply...no voltage drops.
