  1. Has anyone benched this amp. I just picked one up for a steal. I know it doesnt have the internal protection anymore so i have to be cautious. Any input on what wattage produced, if it will hold the 2ohm load and what size fuse to run to possibly keep it from blowing? Please help

  2. As RAM stated if you arent to concerned with SQ you just want to be loud then do ported. But if you care about sounding good while bumping i'd say sealed. Its personal preference in the end. If you get with RAM he can design an excellent box for a very good price.

ok what is sq ???? and im not gonna be doin any comps or anything just everyday beatdown. and i listen to almost all kinds of music.

SQ is sound quality. And who knows you may achieve both with the design ricky did for you. Alot of people get different outcomes, its all in the build. But if you are not very confident with your wood working skills and want to be absolute on best sounding way sealed is the way for you. You can always rebuild if youre not happy in the end :)

  3. If by pushing it further than before, you mean clipping it...don't do it and you won't smell coil burning, lol.

true true. i need to find someone in orlando Fl with a O scope a Term Lab and a kind heart lol

I believe malib00m and lascivious on here get something goin in orlando on the weekends with a termlab and such. May want to contact one of them FYI

  4. I feel like this thread goes back in time. People love to think they are on the cusp of something new. Again id love to challenge anti es sealed box vs my ported.

I never said its the best possibility. Its the best possibility for him. Those L7s get loud but i could never get them in anything i found suited for my taste, and the OP stated he has very litte experience designing and building. Im sure someone with a fair amount of knowledge could build something suitable. Bust as far as the experience hes claiming and my past exp. With L7s id say huge sealed

  5. I have to agree... I've seen and heard a lot of L7 installs and they like sealed a lot. It's not that ported is all that bad but it's not like you gain anything. I like the simplest answer that yields favorable results.

Not every sub in the world likes ported... I remember when the Solobarics came out and people said they sucked because they were putting them in big ported boxes. They were the tightest I ever heard at the time and in a tiny sealed box no less.

Its no use SRP. I told the OP earlier he would be happy with the results of a sealed box with the subs. He has already started another thread for the same topic i guess hoping to hear what he already has his mind set on(going ported) so cant really state opinions to hm.

  6. make a sealed box, as big as possible, put a piece of mdf down the middle to split the chambers, and fill the chambers with polyfill. thank me later.

i hope nobody saw my massive failure before i eddited that.

^^ x2 i had 2 same model subs on 2 1000.1s i went 4.5 sealed each sub and they loved it. It will hit the lows even sealed i promise

  7. One good thing is if you already have the kicker knob ran, you can use the same cord, and dont have to run it again, just change the knob on one end to the AQ and connect the other end to the amp, I know because I had a ZX.1500 and changed out to an AQ2200.

So it will work?! I have the same amp and i just want that damn clip light. I know its not perfect but pretty close. If it truely works it'll be worth the money.
