ok well maybe not 4 12s but maybe just 2. it does have a big ass trunk though. my box in there atm is 4 cuft net inside and i can fit probly 2 of those in there. i may have no trunk left but there might be room. I know the width is either 36 or 38 inches wide, and 18 inches tall, the depth i have no clue about though...

May not be for awhile because of lack of money, but i need some advise on my new trunk build. As of now i have just 2 12s ported on 1kw, nothing special... But i was thinking and i either wanna do a 4th order bandpass box w either 4 12s or some 15s firing into the trunk or seal the trunk off completely and just fire into the cabin, i would be upgrading subs to some dc's but i dont know yet. Any ideas?

well i tuned the amp to loudness with the dd1, why would he of made the 3 different tunings if they wouldnt work right for some people?

After i figured out my max unclipped volume on my hu, i hooked everything up to my sub amp, mrp-m1000 at 2 ohms, and set it to loudness just like it said in the book, ive also done this multiple times, anyways, so i set it to loudness adn then hooked everything back up. But when i play music the subs sound loud as shit, so i went to the back of my car just to look at then and they were gurgling almost like they were clipping and it sounded like shit from there, and i know thats bad so i turned it down. But it said there was no clipping, ive tested my subs and theyre perfectly fine, nothing wrong. and i had to turn the gain down alot from the loudness setting to even quieter than the sq setting to make them not clip. Any ideas/help? Thank you.

im having the same general problem. 55w 6k, ive noticed that one 99% always comes on when i start the car (right bulb) but one doesnt (left). switched ballasts, same problem. switched bulbs, now the right one doesnt go on when i start. so it seems to be a problem with the bulbs. im calling them tomorrow but ive made sure everything is 100% connected. but i ordered the wiring harness. only $15, they recommended it and should power the bulbs good, direct from battery. if its just the bulbs then ill keep it anyway so i know that everything is good. hopefully its just the bulb, but ill respond back on here when i figure out whats wrong. hope this helps!

Give em your opinions and feedback because im always looking to improve. I started this build on here to hopefully win system of the month for april 2011 because the only thing stopping me from upgrading to larger amps and multiple amps for speakers is my alternator. Small 120 amp alts and lack of disposable income have made it so i cant do what i want with my car. but maybe if i won i would have the motivation to upgrade more.
Was looking to get a XS Power 2700d and an Audioque AQ2200 to run my type r's at 2 ohms, and eventually larger better subs. I am actually going to pick up my custom box from Davetheboxguy tomorrow and i will update once i get the box in. 2.0 cu ft per sub with a 6" aeroport at 32 hz will hopefully give me that boost ive been looking for because alot of people have been been dissing my box because its too small and tuned too high for what i want, so ill let you know tomorrow thanks for looking.

Saved up enough money to finally sound deaden the trunk. Put in 40 sq ft of Hushmat in one afternoon

Ive been looking around online and so far from what ive seen, im the only person that i know of that successfully did the big three on a v6 passat without removing the front end of the car, im not 100% but when i was looking it up i never saw anyone that successfully did it without removing the front end.

Cleaned outside of engine and shined everything up when i got it
Bought a ported box from a local shop
1.4 cu ft per chamber at 42ish hz, i know not the best move i could of done for my brand new dual 2 ohm 12" type r's i bought

im a little late starting my built here but ill put up what i have.
Ive been working on this for almost a year on a minimum wage budget and im only 18, so between school, work and friends theres not alot of time for bass, but ive learned to make time.
Original Setup one year ago
Had 2 old kenwood subs with 125 watts going to each sub off a stereo amp, i had no clue about car audio when i installed this, very poor job but it gets better.
Turned subs around and mounted the amp on a rock mounted to the metal beneath the rear deck

Around Summer of 2010 i decided to upgrade everything when i got my new car after my old one died
Got a new car

quick question, im gonna be running an audioque 2200d, big 3 in 0awg in a 2000 passat w a 120amp alt with amp running at 2 ohms, what battery would be best for me if i only wanna replace the one under the hood, biggest size i think i can use is the d2700, so would that bee too much or a good idea, and also, when you buy the batteries from say mechman, do they come with the posts for the battery or do you have to buy them?

I would leave your stock under your hood and get a xs 3100 or kinetik 2400 or whatever you can afford for in the trunk and you will be good to go
would that be putting too much stress on my alt?

upgrading and gonna need new batteries. gonna run 1800-2000rms. stock alt 120amp, big 3 in 0 and i am unsure what i should do about batteries though. i know i need to upgrade but i dont know what to upgrade to. normal car battery now. i want to only get 1 battery to run everything but will buy 2 if necessary. price isnt too much of an issue but dont want to spend over 500. any ideas?

neither dc or mechman make alts for vw's, i tryed calling but no luck yet. and so u know how good the quality of scosche wire is?
