  1. Hey guys i have a question. So I have a XS D3400 under the hood and in the mail i have a Mechman 270 amp alt. I will have a run of zero to that with a 250 amp fuse inline. and i will have two grounds off the negative. I am wondering if i get another battery does it have to be the same size battery or can it be a smaller one if i even need one. I am going to power a 3.5k and two level 4 10s for now.

also i am confused on how to run the wire to two batteries can someone clear that up for me please. i feel like a noob but i never have though about running more than one. eventually i will need to know how to with more builds. anyways if someone could help me with the underlined parts it would be great thank you!

  2. it says on their website it does 1800watts @ 2ohms. Try helping yourself maybe?

Exactly what I'm getting at. A 1500 watt sub running two ohms off a DC 3.5k seems to be a pretty good match.

you can save money and just get a amp that does 1500 at 1ohm. but do what you want its your money. how abou this i buy you a amp that does 1500 at 1 ohm and you give me the 3.5k B)

Where do you get that I am complaining about a 3.5k or anything to make you think I don't want a 3.5k? Yeah a 1500 watt amp is good, but after box rise and music dynamics, having some extra wattage is what I'm after. God-damn, does anybody read the first post or do you just read the last few and think you have it all figured out?!

well i saw that you were only running one sub instead of two so i though i would just ask why. but the 3.5k is a great amp and you can upgrade down the road.

  4. Hello bud.... This advise is given under the assumption that you are running good wire, and not some mickey mouse crap. Keep in mind, not all 1/0 is created equal...

With that being said, your 1/0 wire can carry up to 300 amps of current. So for one, definately do not use a fuse with any higher than a 300A rating. Between your alternator and battery, keep it between 300A and the max output of your alternator.

The amp you are getting calls for a 300A fuse, and accepts 1/0 power and ground. SO I would go with a 300A fuse there.

DC also makes some othert reccommendations that you can find here: http://www.dcsoundlab.com/35k.html

I am using new audio technixs power wire zero gauge and it is working great. thank you very much

  5. Hey guys I am wondering what size fuse to run through my system. Right now i have a 100 amp alternator i will upgrade to a 200 down the road sometime. also i will have a XS D3400 under the hood too very soon. and the amp will be a DC 3.5k

I am wondering what size fuse do i use from the alternator to the battery and then the battery to the amp? all wire is zero gauge and big 3.

    Thanks for the help.

  6. I understand how to use it Fully the only question is if your using a bass knob you put it to half when your testing with the DD-1 and what about the deck gains and frequencies does that come into play ever when your testing? should you set them and then test or just turn them all the way down because you know that it will not clip when you turn them up again?

deck Freq flat. bass treble everything flat. and processors or anything flat/off. open filters on amp all the way. set bass boost where you want it on amp. and is it a gain knob or bass boost knob? if its gain then right in the middle. just know when you pass it, it is giving distortion to the sub. . . if you dont need the extra space for it then do it with it all the way up.

Its a bass boos knob on the DC 3.5k but i am not sure if i should use it yet.
