SPL audio, it's a guy in upstate New York who does custom recones for people. All he needs are the specs. I was a dumbass and didn't set the gains properly :/ so set your gains properly!!!
check out page 10 on my build log in my sig to see what happened lol
but the recone is an 8 layer coil as opposed to stock 4 layer and quad spiders so it should be able to take some abuse
Yeah i just looked at it. that sucks man. but i am for sure getting a DD-1 for my system so nothing happens to it.
-
gettin low there. and some nice flex
-
awesome guys!!! will ship first thing Monday morning! thanks!
Hey steve i am wondering will you still have the DD-1 selling around December I should be finishing my system around then and want to make sure i have my gains set properly. If not i will try and get one earlier.
-
sounds like a good plan. I have a lvl 4 12 (blown) so I've been set back on electrical because of my damn recone :/ I'm doing a HO alt next after I get the trunk sealed off
I'm going/went amp, sub, alt. I like to do the bare minimum first just so I can get some bump until I can afford more powah for more deebeezit's not problem, I'm usually trying to help out with whatever I have knowledge of. I still need to get a volt meter too, but I have more important equipment to worry about like electrical
Yeah i feel you i am getting my XS D3400 soon and probably a DC power alternator. Just trying to save for my amp first lol. "money money money"
Yeah i feel ya man i got my DC level 4 10s and all my zero gauge and am waiting on alarm and amp and battery
Who are you going with on the re cone? That sucks man you blew it easy? what happend?

I don't think it matters, but I may be wrong. I have never done this yet. I would do engine on though, because..... honestly how often do you listen to music when your engine is off? use the DMM to get the correct voltage and adjust the voltage on the voltmeter to what the DMM readsit's your choice. do you want to know the battery voltage or the voltage that your amp is receiving. yes, get some roll of wire and run it to the battery or amp.
as for calibrating it. Have a digital multimeter on hand (preferable and accurate one) and adjust the screw until it reads what your DMM reads
and should i use the DMM when the engine is on and off to check for correct voltages?
Thank you for the quick reply just waiting for the DMM to come in the mail and will be set. Cant wait to get everything in.

Can't go wrong with a viper alarm man...but you didn't really say what you were looking to get out of it. If it has all the functions your looking for, then Id get it; but just know I believe Directed is not authorizing online dealers so its not under manufacturer's warranty (Ray just made a thread about this). the extra shock sensors I don't really see necessary mainly because a shock sensor should be able to sense any glass breaking, opening doors, etc....maybe if the thieves around your town are super crafty.
What i am trying to get out of it is get the best protection i can of my truck and also get a paging system so i know if anyone is trying to mess with my truck when i am not near it. i want a sensitive alarm and loud one lol.

Hey guys i am wondering about getting a alarm for my truck Just to make sure no one breaks into it and steals my system or anything and i am wondering what would work best for my truck. It is a 2001 gmc sierra. I have been looking at some of the viper alarms and they look good but i am wondering if i will be spending too much for what i need and such. here is what i have been looking at.

I am wondering if that one will work for what i want or am i paying too much for it. and does it come with the sirens and everything i noticed some do not.
also will i need these at all?

This is a HUGE meet and a great time with hella cars, trucks, whatever. Anything from ferraris to Vega's with everything in between. I went last year and diddnt relize that the spot we were at was not the only area that had the meet. In the area we were in, there had to have been 150+ cars and I think from what I heard 300-400 cars total. There was no problems between people and cops were coo, unless you were a idiot trying to do a burnout in a parking lot. Im gonna try and go, as long as all my shit is taken care of for my daughters baptisism ( that weekend) .

Is it a SPL competition too or just car show with systems and stuff i am verry interested i wish i could get my amp and battery and bring my truck down. we will see though

Yea that's just the rubber gasket, it comes off pretty easy. Just line up the holes when you go to put the subs in the box.
okay thank you just making sure
-
Its just a rubber gasket right?
yes it is
-
-
Hey guys i noticed today when i was getting the subs together that the surround moves a bit and is loose i am wondering i i need to put a washer at all or anything to protect it when i am mounting drilling it to the box. l just dont want anything to happen to them. they are level 4 10s M2. let me know what i can do.
-
whats your budget?
-
Okay I will shrink it down a bit
-
I am probably going to make the box lower like you said before but not sure if i should or could make the port bigger.
-
You won't be able to pull off a port like that firing into the B-pillar with a lentgh of 55". You will choke the shit out of the port if you have it that close. You need the width of the port distance from any obstable(like a wall, door, pillar).
What about a port firing up possibly

I want a screen shot of what Torres looks like on this box
K thanks bye
