  1. It's always the people with hardly any views and dick for videos. As soon as I broke 350 subscribers a couple months ago it seems like a get a message from trolls every other day. I can't imagine what it is like for Steve. I usually block the user and remove the comments but it's starting to feel like a full time job. lol I guess it's a sign your videos are getting out there. It used to bother me in the beginning but you develop a thick skin pretty quick. You have to really.

  2. I was in a medivac unit as a flight mechanic for 4 years and was on a recovery team going out and repairing planes when they break down in the field.. I have flown more times then I can count. Turbulence doesn't bother me much. It's going to have to knock me out of the seat to wake me up. Try flying with some reservists pilots. They are a bunch of cowboys. Some of you guys would be retching the whole way. lol

  3. Take a break but never quit. Amps can be fixed and speakers can be reconed. The problem is I get it to the point where I like it and then use the excuse of "dialing it in" to buy more equipment and change shit. lol

So then I rationalize... "Well if I get a van I could turn my Malibu into an sq car and find a van to make absolutely retarded."

What gets you in the end is the knowledge you gain. You look back and think I could do that much better now. You listen to your current system and think I should have went with a 12" in a sealed door pod instead of a 10" IB. "A poly midbass with my horns?", What the hell was I thinking? "I bet if I used a selenium or JBL pa driver the frontstage would sound much better."

Being robbed is a big setback but it shouldn't take the fun out of the hobby. Happened to me a while back. They got the monitors, HU, and 3 of my v12's but I refused to give up. They even ripped the door pods off; the bastards.

I just had the starter replaced in my car to the tune of $400 and change. Had to buy a fridge a while back too. I have to remind myself; stubbornly, to stay the course. Setbacks are temporary. I have a goal and I will be damned if anything will get in my way. If it takes a year I just don't care. hahaha

Sorry for the long winded post but that is my way of telling you to just stick it out. If you want it bad enough keep chasing it.

  4. i have an audiopipe ap-1500.1d at a 1ohm load on 2 planetaudio big bang 15's in a slot ported box i got from hifiaudio going on 2 years now in my 2010 tahoe plus a soundstream bass processor and haven't had a problem yet. my cuzin got 2 audiopipe ap-3000.1d on 2 lanzar 1533d (1 on each amp) at a 2 ohm load in a 2003 trailblazer with a superbass probox and you will not sit in there long.

i sat in here and i didn't feel the urge to get out

start at 2:01. car does mid 50's on music EASY. hdc3's, not 4's like the title says. and he's upgraded power too.

edit: if anyone is wondering, im the kid with the furry jacket at the end LOL

That thing gets down. I remember how fucking cold it was that day too. That was my first demo in the mid 50's.

  5. I have been looking at a bunch of processors and I may have found a lower cost alternative to the big boys. These are really popular with the HT crowd. I have seen them in a few car installs as well.

Parametric and graphic 30 band EQ for L+R, adjustable x-over slopes and more.

They also have add-ons for a rear and center channel. with the same processing power.

    Here is their forum

Any of the big dogs want to chime in on this?

  6. You can use a 12" for midbass but I wouldn't try it in a passive system. It can be done but active would be better. You can have overlapping x-over points too. Just experiment to see what sounds best. There location would depend on how high you are x'ing them over. Anything under ~4-500hz will be omnidirectional so they can go in the back door, front door, rear deck, kicks, etc. Keep in mind that the location in the car will change how they perform even given the same size enclosure so experiment. You don't have to be this critical but I thought I would throw that out there. In a lot of the systems I've seen and heard it is the rattles that localize the midbass speakers and not necessarily the freq. response. Hope that helps.
