  1. Ok, since i seem to have 1,000 questions tonight. I'm drawing too many different boxes at once, for example the 4th pic, does anything need to be done to account for that section of the box where it was open or how would that work? Bandpass and horn like designs are somewhat new to me.
  2. Yeah I wasn't exact on that by no means actually drawing up like a 2.25 or 2.3:1 right now.
  3. Seems i've having some major brain farts tonight, port area keep it like normal port ratios for ported or keep it close to the surface area of the subs
  4. Thats what I was thinking just needed to double check myself, kinda makes sense when I think about it. lol
  5. One dumb question on my part, ratios for bandpass are they using net or gross volumes?
  6. Actually his truck is kinda what I always thought about when I was first debated cutting mine. lol
  7. I really want something that is good for daily and occasionally hits the meter. Good low end extension with reasonably flat response, but also has the output to meet my ears expectations.
  8. Been a long time since of i've heard anyone mention a wicked one.
  9. Well I prefer the 1st and 3rd as well. Everyone calls them something different. Quasi 6th seems to be a common name. I know the type r's are not the best in the world, but the truck they are going in is a single cab '86 s10 so its not exactly spacious or beautiful lol. Plus not to be a smartass but I already have the equipment and asking for box tips not equipment change. Believe it or not the type r's have done very well for me, after all most of it is in the box right?
  10. I don't really need actual specs on the box. I'll take care of that. Just really wanted some insight on the general design principles. Like what ya'll think would have the best output and such.
  11. Ok, so here are a few ideas and designs I've been kicking around. Please excuse the not so pretty and detailed drawings. I have 4 Alpine Typer R 12s and a Crossfire 2000d. I will be cutting the cab and bed to do a cut through and can't seem to make up my mind which way I wanna go. Just wanted some input and thoughts and one over the others.
  12. Back seat functionality isn't really an issue, don't use it at all.
  13. Thanks for the quick replies. Been a while since I've built anything for an SUV, maily trucks and cars. The way things are looking just sheer space wise since it is a 2 door i really leaning on a wall, but theres just something about being able to see out your back window that is appealing. lol
  14. Geez, sorry i even asked. Not wanting an actual design just more less some ideas on what has worked for other blazer owners, like subs pass side firing up port drivers side firing back, all up, all back, things of that nature. Really thinking about just walling it but looking at other alternatives. Last time i checked a general design is a general design, different brands of subs and things don't necessarily come into play on tried and proven box designs. That is like saying i'm going to buy some BTL's and i should build a crx style ported box, or go with some Audiopulses, and build a 6th order bandpass firing forward.
  15. Gonna run 3 15's in a 2000 2 door blazer and was looking for some ideas for sub placement. Odd # of subs so I was just gonna see what you guys might suggest. Thanks ahead.
  16. jesus if i had the money and gas money i would come get that bad boy right now. I feel your pain. Back in high school i tore my ACL and cartilage on both sides of my knee bailing on a jump. Rough times, i was always kinda sketchy riding after that. Lost my testes about it.
  17. Sorry but your not going to get alot of seriousness if you come in here thinking your getting that kind of power on a stock charging system, not even to mention the sub not stankin.
  18. Its going in a '01 Sebring 4 dr. I used to have 2 L7 12's forward firing and sealed off, and was quite happy with the sound and ouput from them, but believe i'm going to step up my game a bit. Actually probably won't do aero ports. Lets just say a lot of creative kerf cuts. You know i should probably have this moved to the subs/enclosures, cause the more i think of it, i want a loud daily again, but could whip into a few competitions occasionally and not feel to ashamed.
  19. Honestly there isn't enough room to port out the side, it will all be firing into the car. The box will take up the biggest part of the trunk, with just enough room to mount amps and batts.
  20. Looks like the plan is going to be for 2 15's. Now i don't have a large trunk opening, so port area is gonna be tight. I will for sure be forward firing my subs. Subs and amp, not quite sure yet. But i know i'm not going to be able to do this :hairtrick: , but i would like to get down. My question is do you have any tips or tricks to getting trunk cars loud with a forward firing setup. I'm used to just building for music and thats it. Thanks
  21. And for once shit has been going pretty good. Gotta outta college, got a job, gettin paid and don't have to kill myself for it. And outta nowhere picked up a set of 1000v insulated tools from a buddy for nothing. Just one of them good days.
  22. Believe I might have found some potential subs for my next setup, when the money piles up. I'll definitely do a build log if i do and share it.
