  1. If it's built right you won't even need silicone. just glue that fucker together and let it rip!

Wood glue is not a sealant, no reason other than being lazy not to silicon or use Liquid nails.

It's one less thing you have to buy lol. If you make your cuts right and use enough glue., the box will seal its self.

  2. This is from audioque, for the hdc315 We recommend to allow at least several weeks of playing time to break in SQ Woofers, full break in may take many months. DO NOT play subwoofers at max amplifier power in the first couple of days, give the suspensions a chance to loosen up. As the suspension breaks in, the subs will play lower and louder. Also the paper that came with my sundown sa-12 said something about break in period as well.. either way they musta had dirty power to it!

HDC3's have a very stiff suspension. Movement plays a huge role in cooling. aaand i don't feel like explaining further.

  3. Good luck fitting those back there in anything more than a sealed box. Your best bet is to sell those and get a pair of decent 12s or 10s depending on your trunk space.

Bet they'd sound a hell of a lot better than those 15's.

edit: just saw your dims. from the looks of your trunk, you're gonna have to build the box inside the trunk. you won't be able to get it out of the trunk that way.

pair of 12's will sound better than the 15's you have once you build a proper box.

  4. Stay clear from the audiopipe, as for the mbquart you won't see rated power though, 300-400w short, and that's clipped power (from Ray's clamp results) you'll be better off with something like the mbquart 2000.1 or hifonics brz1700.1 (same amp roughly)

I got my 1k DD1'd and from where i had it comfortably set to my listening preferences, the DD1 said i was clipping at less than half that output.

  5. they probably have a car battery hooked up to a trickle charger. or they bypass the amps alltogether. i've never tried messing with the gains on them before... i might try that tomorrow.

or just a bunch of 12v power supplys made for that exact application. I seriously doubt it best buy would use a battery on a charger. OP you bestbet for clean power would be a plate amp or 2

It's possible, but I have a feeling they have an amp to power the subs behind the wall, rather than the ones displayed. They allow you to switch between amps, yet output from the subs seems to remain the same. I'll have to test this theory though.

but yeah one or two plate amps depending on what your VC config is. most plate amps are 4 ohm stable, one set of leads.
