Hey steve what song is that in the background at the end of your vids? it sounds like a freestyle on the thug movtation beat chopped and screwed? is it for download some where?
x2...air forces slowed down but has bass and its free style or something. Where would we find this?
BTW, second video was nasty. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/public/style_emoticons/default/hairtrick.gif

its a grand cherokee and the plan is to bolt the box to the floor...good lookin out
yeah my bad Grand Cherokee. Get some Kicker L7s :hairtrick:

As I remember, the 15" square woofers have a cone area of around 226 cu.in. and 2 12's are working with around 224-228 i think. Not much of a diff. there.
It also depends on the enclosure and vehicle to determine which would get louder. Way to many variables...
X2
Not to mention, if you're going for loudness and your options are a 15" L7 versus 2 W7s why not just get two 15" L7s? Getting 2 Kicker 15" L7s or L5s is going to be cheaper then 2 W7s. I know that's not what you are thinking of but I was just throwing it out there.

I drive a Jeep and sure you might have a little more room in a Cherokee but no way in hell you're gonna get a box that is 10 cubes in the back without removing the back seats. Have you took demensions?
Edit: If you build a box to the ceiling and take out the spare tire you better brace that thing down because if you have to SLAM on your breaks that box is going to be a moving projectile and its going to cause some serious damage in your Jeep. Just lookin out man.

Two 15" L5's will get louder off a 1000 watts rms over a Kicker L7 15 because it has more cone area...and for what it's worth, a Kicker L7 15 won't be able to take a constant 1500 watts rms. Trust me, I have two.

2 15 L5s on a 1000.1
Why not just get two Kicker 15" L7s?

Already made a vid of it a couple days back and made a thread about this in the video section...it gets loud-end of the video I set off an alarm in the parking lot lol.
-
damn ill try and make it too.
-
good shit bro, those L7 were beating good, real good. nice high's too.
Thanks man.
lil_italy, nah you're not thread jackin..you're good. Are you louder now with your SoundSteam system then your groundpounder Kicker setup?
-
werd L7s get low and rumble hard i had 4 L7 15s on a ma audio hk 802-sx 4000rms was ridicules L7s FTW!
2607D thats a great amp i started out with a 2006D on all 4 and hit 146.3 sealed up. those amp will do rated for sure.
Damn you don't have that system anymore? I saw all your vids on youtube. Those 4 Kicker L7s were quaaakin.
Beanz, got infinity speakers for my highs. Forget what kind though.
-
car alarm goes off at the end 2 lol

Good shit.
Beat till the wheels fall off.
-
Obviously you're going to be taking out the back seats right?
-
I barley have any room to do that too.
-

The shirt trick may have not been bad but I know my voltage is lol. Not really sure but I know it's dropping.

currently without knowing how its double baffled or bacing used i got
[email protected] w/16.69sqin/cuft port
thats a little small on cuft and a little much in port for daily imo... if i was changing the box i would
make the box 1" deeper and .25" taller... if so
43*20*21
4.75" wide port
32.73hz
13.4sqin/cuft
7cuft after displacement besides bracing(6.9cuft@33hz after .1cuft)
the extra ~.6cuft per sub should help its low end and lower the peakyness the l7s have in small boxes
ive used l7s alot and the seem to like 4-4.5cuft best
The box I have now is double baffled. We double baffled it by just adding another baffle on top of the one by nailing and gluing it down. With the demensions I have now, I can't really make the box any deeper.
What about port design? I was talking with one of my buddies and he was saying that I should have the port in the middle and have a little more port area. I have a L-shaped port design so I was thinking I could try something different?

By far you say? Have you heard the difference between the two?
