So my wife wants a system in her car i have a kicker L7 but im loving my DC 18 my question is should i do a DC lvl4 10" or lvl 4 12" or even maybe two 10's etc its going to be in a cobalt being pushed by a usamp MD3D she just wants to do some bass comps and daily just looking for some ideas before i start buying
-

soon as i get home i will do that

So today i was working on the system and come to find out my amp deck board must have hit on the sub it has a gash in the rubber its not fully thru but you can almost feel it in the back part of the rubber what should i do so that it don't mess up anymore then it already has i moved everything away from it already and the last question would be if i got this sub reconed that would replace the rubber to right? btw its a DC 18

i agree with having lowes cut the wood for you, screw and glue on a nice day outside put in car over night with windows down and u got a box -
Haha yeah I bet first time doing that just wasn't sure in how to make it work yeah lvl5 heavy but worth it glad I can make it work
-
great thanks a lot guys for your help this will make things a lot nicer 18 aint so easy to get out of a cobalt by yourself ha!
-
so let me make sure i have this right. each coil is going to be ran to each of the 4 bolts then just jump the bolts to whatever ohm i want to run?
-
yeah that was the plan just wasnt sure on how to setup the sub to be able to do that
-
Not sure if this is the right place to ask this questions but heres the thing i want to setup my box for a DC 18 D1 to where i can change ohms without taken the sub out of the box for 2 ohm i would need a jumper that goes from one side POS other side NEG then rest to amp for half ohm i would need 2 jumpers NEG to NEG then POS to POS then from one side of coils to amp any idea if i can even set mine up to do that without taken out the sub? my goal is to use 2 ohm for daily then half for bass comps (yes i have a o scope) to retune everything the safe way
-
I probably would do a 3ft^3 ported tuned to 30 Hz I'd ask around more though
-
Well looking at ur box specs your never going to get a 31.5 port out of a box that's only 24H I'm not a expert but I can try and help from what iv learned so far but I'm on a iPad right now so can't help design anything at the moment
-
what subs are you running? what amp?
-
yeah it matters
-
20.5 width for a port wow thats big! Lol
-
Correct
