Damn a G4, I used to sell and install the hell out of those back in 02-03... I am sorry to say that I have totally forgot everything about them. Well I remember a lot of wires and one huge issue that I had with them... when they would get hot, or hot in the vehicle, they would stop responding to the remote. i forget if it would cause other issues like no start.
Mine were always mounted high in the passenger dash or under the seat.

My buddy has a pair of the pioneer coaxial... They sound fuckin AMAZING... People talk shit but i am about to pick up a pair because you will help out a LOT compared to some worn out 17 year old infinity's...
Basically man pioneer would be my choice. They sound good and the price is not that bad.
I have yet to hear an amazing set of coaxial anything pioneer in 5"
for the money they are equivalent as all the others out there in the same price range... And I am sure they probably share the same Asian Assembly line as the competitors... I don't think they sprinkle Pioneer magic dust one day and then Kenwood the other, Clarion the next, JL Audio the following week
just keeping it real

thanks for the responses
I can actually get the component versions of the Pioneers for not much more than the coaxials, so components up front and coaxials in back
would this be a better option?
the component versions of the Hertz and Morel cost significantly more so that option is out
if Pioneer is your choice then yes

As it states... Cleveland Ohio area!!!!!!!!
call me: cell 216.855.2107
*****BUT Before You Call*****
here is what I am looking for, no problems as in emotional, mental, physical, family, legal, drug, alcohol, extra baggage... I can handle the occasional missing finger but a high personal standard is the key to employment
- have at least a years experience with autos and wood working
- trainable
- be able to contort in confined spaces, such as under the dash of a Lotus Elise (sorry, if you are "big boned" but you are not going to make it)
- hard worker
- not a cry baby
- knows how to keep their mouth shut ( this is the Vegas rule as we work on a lot of uber high end clientèle and their right to privacy is key to them returning)
If you fit the bill give me a call...
also... before you go asking for a million bucks a year, be prepared to provide a W2 or current pay stub to back it up!
These are my requirements, once you pass these, you will be subjected to the companies requirements which this does not represent... this is the "foot in the door" post. I am sure you could be drug tested and subjected to a criminal background check... after all we do work on half million dollar vehicles...

nice Steve, but first thing I would do is get the unisex bathroom sign and a restricted area, I hate sharing the shitter with other people, besides that is where the project details come from or the next project, and can double as the library

I am interested, we have a guy here, but I will send the stuff out as I hate dealing with him

yeah I got to play around with one, it was a nice screen/remote, but damn, it was silly stupid to program, I see the new handheld is easier, and looks awesome but... not paying $1700 for a remote... I did do a marantz LCD one 5 years ago and that was just as bad. this new one looks nice. soon though the itouch... maybe in a few months
advice on tweeter mounting idea.
in Fabrication, Fiberglass, Etc

it sounds good man????? seriously??? first it looks more like a pic of the back door so i might be a bit confused, then sail panel vs the "on the door " is 2 different spots ... sail panel is the triangle shape area that usually covers the nuts for the side mirrors.
sail panel would allow you to position your tweeters a bit more on axis than in a door without looking like a hoopty
optimal results would be to look at the A-pillar as far forward as possible, positioned with the axis towards the middle of the vehicle between both front seats, or close to it... you won't know the exact angle until you physically take your tweeter and place it there, hook it up, and play some music making some fine adjustments as you go along... I am no walking encyclopedia of how every tweeter sounds, so YOU will need to tune it... then proceed playing with the fiberglass.
A-pillar bottom fwd position also gives you some good width... just be careful that the whole thing is not sounding like you are wayyyyy left of the stage
sounds good.... seriously, that is some crazy advice...
