  1. Ok, I'm going to do 2 boxes, one at 32 and one S U P E R low!! The one I have now is tuned high so if I'm in that mood I'll have it as well. I just REALLY want to hear these subs @ 20 something!!

My dimensions are 35x25x15 for now, probably switching everything over to my 01 Silverado in the next week or 2.

  2. lol @ tuning low sacrificing volume, im tuned to 30 and put up 148's lol, shit idk what....wow i forgot his name, mind fart, the king of pyshclone! i forget what hes tuned to but i know he puts up 157's below 30hz lol

but id tune to 32, im tuned to 30 and i love it, but honestly if i were to build another daily box id tune to 32

Yeah 32 sound about right for me. Correct me if I'm wrong, which is highly likely cause I'm noobie, but you are very loud tuned low... But wouldn't be at least a little louder if you were tuned higher?

  3. I have 2 12" DC audio level 3 (with "level 4 voice coils") and I want to put them in a box that will get really low. After 3 failed attempts at building my own box, I gave up and bought the best pre-fab I could find in town... It gets loud, real loud, but the lows are not very audible and I don't like that. I understand tuning low costs you volume in the long run but I really don't care... Loud is nice and all but when lows hit and you just hear tons of air and woofer flappage... That's annoying to me! My brother is in town though for a week and has tons on woodworking skills so I know he can help me whip up a nice box.

With the above mentioned subs, what would you recommend as far as cuft. per sub and tuning for great lows. Not really asking for a design, just input, but in case it matters my max dimensions are 35x25x15.

On a side note, if the subs are DC level 3 with level 4 voice coils, do they handle 600, or 1000 watts RMS? Is 1000 bad for these subs?

    Thanks!

  4. What did you call his cell phone... lol, just kidding. GOOP! Sounds like a plan, I'm gonna go get it now! Thank you!

YES I DID i actually texted him.... (no you cant have it...lmao)

Dc is stupid busy... so If i can field any questions to help I will there phone rings non stop all day long.... glad I could help ya

Yes I had read prior to posting that they were tied up building woofers for competitions and whatnot so thanks man, I really appreciate it! I haven't actually done this yet but I will try to do it tomorrow!! Thanks everyone and I'll update with results.

Off topic; I really should look into finally putting texting on my phone... B)

  5. Thanks guys, (and girls) I'm just kind of waiting here... Been trying to stay hydrated since that's about all I can do prep wise... I am going to go back to the doctor tomorrow for any last advice he may have as well... Got 5 lortabs on standby so that should help some.

I almost wish I didn't know it was there, because it's just got me anxious as hell!!!

But yeah, thanks SO MUCH for the replies, you all have helped tremendously!!!

  6. Ok so I have been having some major stomach issues lately so the doc ordered me an ultrasound, everything looks good except for I have what is possibly a 3mm kidney stone. Has anyone gone through this? I'm really wondering what to expect... Will it be a sudden onset of major pain or will it be gradual? How long does it take to pass? Can you function while passing a stone? Any suggestions or advice would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

I only have one friend that has gone through this and he makes it out to be no big deal, which I know is BS.

  7. I tried to call DC but I am assuming they're closed today because I got no answer, twice. I called 3 local shops here and they all say a high grade silicone... Do you guys agree?? I would really like something that will give me a reliable hold so I don't have to inspect the surround every day to be sure it's holding.

Off topic - NONE of the 3 shops I called have ever heard of DC audio... :shok:

  8. I bought some used DC subs online and when the came, one has a hair line tear in the surround. It looks like someone has already tried to patch it on the back side. The patch job seems to be holding ok but there is still a little space where I can see all the way through, maybe a quarter inch or so. What can I do to fix this? Is it easy or would it be better to check with a local car audio place?

i can not for the life of me get a pic that shows the tear. I'm sure you know what I mean though.
