  1. So as not to completely crap on the OP's thread, my suggestion is to get a good receiver and a solid set of bookshelves. Run a straight 2.0 set up for a while as you save money. Then add a sub for a 2.1 system. Later, you can add a center channel (3.1) and finally a set of towers and move the bookshelves to the rear to complete a 5.1 system.

i also am 16 years old with atleast a 300 dollar budget and that to me is top dollar. Damn i will just use some damn car speakers powersupplys and a RF amp

Thats right:) im running 3 psus and one amp on 215s. Gotta love car audio at home :D

For the price you pay to get decent quality PSUs, you may as well have bought a receiver.

I have A stereo amplifier. Nad c355bee im very happy with it. Im running 2 pairs of speakers on it. Cerwin vega xls 12 and cerwin vega v 12. And the psus are from random pcs ive thrown:P

    I stand behind my statement.

Your amplifier is looking for power at 13.8 - 14.4. This is where most are rated. Running an amplifier on a PSU is going to have the amplifier acting like its always in a state of low voltage. I seriously, seriously doubt a computer PSU is putting out 13.8 - 14.4 volts. All the looking online I've done has put it in the high 11s to the low 12s. As I'm sure you're already aware, these are numbers that we try to avoid on this forum when we are setting up charging systems in our cars.

The kind of PSU you would need to (properly) set up car audio in home is like this one.

And when you can buy receivers like this one for the same money, gain features that make way more sense in the home audio environment, and reduce the fire hazard, well, the choice is obvious unless you're looking for a project.

Also, maybe look into a sound bar setup???

  2. That seems a little expensive (unless I missed something).

Thanks for the input, but I paid $360 for this unit off of crutchfield... Not that I need to clarify, plus offers can be made and rejected or accepted... soooo yea......

Also please read the following which is the first thing in the F/S section:

    1. Do NOT post dump.

    - Post dump is an unnecessary post

    - All items listed for sale must be listed with a asking price for each item

    - If you hate the price don't complain about, its up to the OP(original poster) to set his price, other wise PM him/her

    - If you are not interested in purchasing or are interested but do not have the money to purchase the item at the time you see the thread on that item that is for sale, do NOT post

    - Posts may be deleted without warning

    - Report to mod button is there for the sake of reporting the thread, USE IT

    - Repeat offenders will have a short ban from the forum

  3. Hello all... Just upgraded to a Pioneer 880PRS...

Installed my P880 and just selling this one off... I grounded the RCAs because of slight whine(apparently common on Pioneers) but its audible only if no audio is played... Unit is in near perfect condition, comes with manual, wiring harness and original box(not pictured) ...

Looking to get $240 $200 shipped....

    I'd possibly except trades for a good/great component set (6.5in) ...

I have GREAT refs on SSA ... Bought and Sold...

Let me know fellas, ask away if needed ....

    Onto the goodies:

    Almost forgot the name card...

  4. I don't understand this ... Why spend SOO much on the sub stage and go so cheap on the high end ??? 4 15s on 12k (according to you sig) ... really bro ??

Why not buy a bad ass single set of components and get the job done ... instead of going multiple sets and having to spend damn near as much money to fabricate the vehicles interior ??

a pair of good tweeters on the a-pillars and a pair of 8s in the doors (passive 8 component set) would be my suggestion on a real strong 2 channel amp ...

    just a suggestion bro ...

    Thanks ...

    Randal ... :drink40:

What 8" component set did you have in mind cable???

I think you know the answer I'm going to give on this one Sir ... :good:

lol... Randal.. I def love the look and specs of Blues Audio... but it's too rich for me... :peepwall:
