  1. Thats the next thing i'm planning on doing. I need to run some longer wire so that i can relocate the amp. Not a fan of having it on top of the gas tank
  2. Also a small note for anyone with this car, I had to remove the momentum switch once the subs were installed. The first time i turned them up, it triggered the switch and killed the car. All you have to do is cut the two wires going to the switch and crimp them together.
  3. Sony Xplod XM-GTX1852 1000W 2 channel. Running at around 200 watts rms on each channel
  4. I decided to go with a circuit breaker rather than an in-line fuse
  5. And that's the kind of attitude that I wish all new comers, hell, I wish everyone had that attitude. Most people come on here and don't wanna take any criticism. They wanna be loud but get pissed off when we tell them that 2 12's and a 15 won't sound good together. Thanks man
  6. Finally starting a build-log on here, so bear with me as I figure it out. Disclaimer: This is by no means a perfect or professional install, its just something to keep me occupied. Any advice for the build is appreciated.
  7. Starting my first build-log so bear with me. Hopefully I can have it all uploaded within the next couple of days. Disclaimer: This is by no means a perfect or professional grade install, just something to keep me occupied. And please don't bash on my equipment too bad, when working minimum wage, gotta do what ya gotta do lol. Any advice is greatly appreciated
  8. Thanks for the info guys, and no im not expecting to win, just figured its worth a shot. Figured i could post up my system and get a few pointers on whats right and wrong. My system is by no means extraordinary lol. gotta start somewhere though
  9. Just finished my install, and it happened to fit into the requirements for the new SOTM. Answer ur question?
  10. How can i enter into the runnings for SOTM, also i cant seem to find how to upload photos of the build process. Sorry to ask a question that's probably been asked a million times, but any help is appreciated thanks, Mike
  11. cool, thanks. I have noticed something thats odd though. Now whenever i play it loud, with certain songs, the subs hit notes that almost sound like they are making the speakers hum / buzz. Not sure if that's normal or not. I currently have two 12s wired at 2ohms connected to one channel, and a 13" at 4ohms connected to the other channel (dunno if thats bad for amp, having two different impedences)
  12. Its my sub amp. Its currently running two JL W3's wired at 2 ohms
  13. I finally bought a new amp to replace my old sony xplod. The xplod didn't have many settings to work with, but the new one has a few different ones. I was wondering if there is a general "rule of thumb" as of how to set the knobs The amp: Lanzar MXA 282 (2 channel amp) Settings: Level (min-max) High Pass (80hz - 2.5k) Low Pass ( 35hz - 400) Bass Boost (0 - +18db) Phase (0 - 180) Any advice would be greatly appreciated
