Steve, I have a question that I've heard a lot of debate around. I just bought a Pioneer AVH 8400BH, and was wondering if I had to turn the subwoofer level up to the max which is +6 to get the entire 4v output? What are your thoughts?
Subbed to this thread for all the knowledge being dropped.

Do yourself a favor and get a cheeseburger hot from Rudy's on the loop and thank me later. Also make sure to hit up Nick Tahoe's for a garbage plate. And if you travel in to Syracuse you need to hit up Dinosaur BBQ and Ichibans (Hibachi Rest).
dinosaur is the ishhh, ichiban alright, gone there too much so it gets old lol
I could eat at both of them all the time. Every time I come back to Syracuse to visit, my wife and I always to them and Brooklyn Pickle. I miss those places.

Welcome to SMD.....can't believe this thread made it 7 posts without pic requests.....that's gotta be a record.
Like the clean and sleek install!

Lol...isn't it "The City With A Future"? Talk about a slogan to set you up for failure.

Fulton's not too bad..........to drive thru, lol.

Good fight dude! Looks like he tried to go for a few desperation sub attempts that futile.

Damn dude...I grew up in Cato and moved to DE in 2004. I didn't realize you were up there. Next time I go home to visit my family, I'll hit you up.

This plus iPod or iPhone = win
It doesn't appear that this will work with my iPhone 4s....or my 4.....or my 3Gs.....damn. Honestly though, if I could just figure out what the fuck the problem is with the inability to play videos from my iPhone, then I'd be good. I bought the correct Pioneer cable, installed it all correctly and am still having issues.
When I go to play a video from my iPhone, the screen goes to blue and the phone menu continually pops out from the right side of the screen randomly and rapidly. It is a complete pain in the ass. I'm jailbroken and hope that isn't the reason why (it really shouldn't matter). I'd sure as hell love to figure it out though.
Has worked for me on iPod touch 4th gen, iPhone 3GS, 4, and 4s, and iPad 2 just fine. Nor sure why you think that. Also on pioneer head units if you have a wallpaper set or background other then off it will not play videos.
I just went by what it said on eBay, that's all. No wallpaper on for me. I'll try to get a video of the issue and post it.

I have a 64gb 4s, but I had just thought about the option as an idea. Seemed possible, just wasn't sure about the power part.
I am having issues though pulling videos off my iPhone through to the deck.

I honestly haven't bought it yet, I was just thinking about it for my car. I just bought the Pioneer AVH 4400BH. It does have the Vid In, Left In, and Right In, which I am assuming is the easy part of this. But I assume that the power for the Apple TV is a typical AC plug.
-
I was curious if anyone has hooked up an AppleTV to their Pioneer double din or if it is possible. Seems like it could be, I'm just not sure how i could go about it. Thanks fellas.

Problem solved.
No voltage drop, no bad grounds, no bad amp, no bad RCA's.....................but I'll be damned if the positive from one of my rear fill 6.5's wasn't shifting and touching the rear deck.
-
And I will say that I'm willing to spend what I need to to correct the issue, I just need to figure out what the issue is, lol.
When yuu reset your gains with the dd1 did you turn the gain up more thOugh? Yeah I have been told the stock one with the car is off by far and as you stated doesn't state what the amp is getting
I haven't moved the gain since setting it and literally just installed the new deck an hour ago. I'm at work and haven't played with it yet. I used the -5 to set the amp last time for the front stage, now I'm going to use the 0.
In order to upgrade any electrical at all before tomorrow's show, the only thing I could think of doing is buy 2 yellow tops and throw my 3400 up front. Time to find some 1/0 and terminals.
-
Called Ric from PCA....gonna redo the DD1 and see what's up.

Big 3 is done...1/0 welding cable.
Newbie, I would guess what you are saying is possible and it does make sense. Like I said, with the current electrical as I have now, there were no issues until last week. I had always relied on my car DIC to give me my voltage and hadn't installed a volt meter at the amp. According to my car, I am never below 13.7, and usually over 14. Obviously I know this may not exactly be what the amp is seeing, but with no prior issues I figured I was good.
Thanks for the ideas guys.

Umm, is the solider connection clean?
Did you check your ground connections...I've done this a few times when moving my amplifier back in the days. I moved the amp, my ground connections came loose. Also check for corrosion around the ground.
The solder connection is very clean. I had my IT dept do it with me at work and they are a great little personal "geek squad", lol.
My Ground connections go from my amp to the negative terminal on my rear battery (xs d3400). I have runs of 1/0 pos and neg going from front battery to the rear xs 3400. All of the ground connections have been gone over and are tight. Also corrosion isn't an issue with the way its ran. Like you though, this was one of my first thoughts.
I just installed my Pioneer AVH 4400bh, so I'm going to pull out the DD1 and CC1 and set everything up again....fingers crossed that I can figure it out.
-
So my setup is a DC 2k pushing 2 Level 4 12's with a DD C4A pushing my Massive Audio CK6's and I have an xs d3400 in my trunk that this is all connected to. I've had this setup since last August and have really had no issues......until now.
A week ago this past Wednesday I received my DD1/CC1 combo pack and set my gains, cross over pts, and checked head unit level on my setup. This was all done with speakers attached and had to be done through the amp, meaning using the amp ground and output positive. When I went to pull my RCA cables off my C4a, the gold outer ring from the amp came off with it. I pulled the amp out of the car and had a friend re-solder the gold pc back on.
After we put it back together, everything seemed to be fine. But a little while later the amp went into protect mode. I shut off the deck, waited and turned it back on and everything is fine. Going forward from this point though, if I turned up the volume and the bass hit too hard it would go into protect mode. So I called DD and ordered a new RCA input and installed it into the amp. I also noticed that one of my RCA's would "wiggle" a bad connection, so I ran a new set from the back of my deck to the amp (knu koncepts).
I was hoping all this would fix the issue, but it still happened just not exactly like before. I have double checked my grounds from the amps and they are fine, back to the battery negative in the trunk. I don't believe it's voltage drop.
This morning on the way to work, the front speakers started getting a little fuzzy/feedback ish and I turned it off for a few and when I turned it on it was fine again.
I am lost for ideas now though and am hoping someone can help guide me to troubleshoot this....
Thanks SMD fam!!

Good luck. Seems like a great opportunity for you.

Sorry for your loss bro. I am currently battling B Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma/Leukemia and I completely understand how difficult cancer can be for a family. I am blessed though as I am beating it. I'm definitely here if you ever need to talk or vent.

175.4 and DC 5k to 19734.

I love this track...wish producers would put a little more time into trying to minimize the clipping.

Ok, that makes sense to me now as to why it took so long to pick up the 40hz tone. Makes me believe it should be at +6 then.
