  1. I like RE Audio , they have hella Xmax for the price and have decent SQ, too. SRX 10" will cost you about $80 a pop, though... well worth it if you can flip for it. Have you considered a single 15"? The RF is a good buy for the $30~ range, if you're looking to spend as little as you can. I thought about a 15.. and am still thinking about it. That would be a lot of bump for a tiny car.
  2. As I stated 150. and said I'm going to build a box. So your saying I should look at P1 12"S if not RE audio? One persons opinion doesn't go well.. exactly they bear good for their price.
  3. Well im not looking to spend a lot of money.. I need either two 10"s or two 12"s Cause Im going to build my own box. I'll have about 150.
  4. a girl.. Do you know of any decent subs that aren't too pricey? I'm looking to build a box and am on a budget.
  5. do they sound good at all?
  6. Are they and good? Ever heard of them? I found a 12" for 35.00 new on amazon.. makes me think of "get what you pay for" http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0017GIP3K/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=A1DXN92KCKEQV4
  7. So I would provide: 39 is the width of the trunk 20 is the length in the trunk i'm going to use (only half of the trunk) 17 is height. The link to Steve's build I want: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/141-ported-box-2-mtx-9515s-repost-for-my-site/ The subs: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0017GIP3K/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=A1DXN92KCKEQV4
  8. that would be interesting now you would have to design the box. there are a few guys that design them on here for a few dollars. or i think some guys might do it for free. Do you know of any for free? Where would I post at?
  9. This is a deal Steve did for two 15"s http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/141-ported-box-2-mtx-9515s-repost-for-my-site/ I wanna do it with two 12"s
  10. And where might that be? I new to forums..
  11. So probably just buy the speakers and custom build the box? What do you know about hifonics though.. I mean a 35 dollar 12" kinda makes me think of the saying "you get what you pay for" well my buddy was running his power acousik t them and they were slamming their ass off but that was in a ported box. they did get alittle warm but they were running more than max power. what size amp do you have to work with? I've got to buy an amp lol. We'll with these do you suggest porting the box? i couldnt tell you there ive only heard them in a ported box so i dont know how they sound sealed. I mean I can run it sealed.. but if it sounds bad it'd be a pain in the ass porting it with it already being sealed what do you mean?. If it sounds like shit in a sealed box, it would be a pain in the ass to port it.. not really. Just a little bit of extra work ah got you well genrally you get more sqout of a properly designed sealed box. but they need lots of power Well I mise well just port it. Where would I put the port at in the box?

  16. well look at the deal i could get, at the bottom Hifonics HFI12D4 12 in. 4 Ohm 600 Watt DVC Car Subwoofer $35.95 Atrend E12D B Box Series 12-Inch Dual Sealed Bass Boxes by Atrend $59.76 Boss Audio KIT-2 Complete 8 Gauge Amplifier Installation Kit by BOSS $12.25 all for 107.96.. Would it be better doing that? I'd just have to buy another sub which would make it 143.91
  17. Well I think two 12's would be too loud for my little lancer lol. plus I would need a better amp for two 12's that why I was going with two 10's mdf at home depot is- $27 for a really big ass sheet, I don't know the dimensions. I'll have about 200 for speakers including the mdf. thatll be tough but its doable. a sealed box for 10's should only need 1 sheet. i know imma get some flak for this but what about hifonics 10's or somethin My friend bought a sheet its huge.. like more than enough. how much do hifonics usually run? i think you can get some for like 40 online. let me check I'm only finding ones for 50-55, if you find 40 link me forsure.

  20. Well Im not going to make a port. So what should I do? I'm completely new to this. allright so your gonna do a sealed box. you need to find out the specs of your subs and findout what their displacement is and how much airspace they require in a sealed box. well I can't find a decent pair of 10's to buy for cheap. I mean I found cheap ones but they might be shit.

  23. first you need to determine what airspace your subs need. the amount will differ for a ported box and a sealed box. next measure what space you have to work with then use a box calculator to find out how big your box will have to be. but if you do ported you have to figure in port volume. and you also have to think of woofer displacement http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/box_wizard.asp. as for the 10's amazon crutchfield or search the sale threads on here I heard that ported sounds better, but every car sounds different.. backwards. sealed has better sq whereas ported is louder. Well I don't want to kill my car with just all bass and no actual music.

  25. I wanna build a box for my 03 lancer. I was thinking a box for 2 10's or just one 10' What dimensions would I need for the box? Where can I find some decent 10's that aren't expensive? I'm new, so thanks.
