  1. I don't know much but my thoughts can't hurt. If you have a ported enclosure, it might be tuned high and stressing your subs on the low notes. Your subs might not be fully broke in. Your subs might not be rated to play notes that low on high volumes. The songs you're playing might be clipping or your gains might be set wrong.
  2. Thanks for all the replys, I'll clear up some blank spots for those who have questions. Don't be hatin' but I have a 2006 Kia Spectre, got it for $2500 from my mom and with the gas prices and shit I couldn't turn down that offer. Idk what alternator it has but I already replaced the stock battery (it was 5 years old and kept dying on my current 300 watt system). I don't have a big 3 or anything and I doubt an aftermarket alt would fit in my small ass car. Also, I had my eyes set on the DC level 2 because of its low rms, cheap price, and it has a very reliable company name behind it. What I was asking for in short is a good 15" sub that can handle full tilt everyday (after break-in period) and run hard on under 600 rms. What I'm mainly looking for is some beast ass lows, I download stuff like Decaf and then slow it down ever further. My comment about getting one 15 or two 12's is because I don't know which of the two would produce deeper/stronger low end in my 4cu f max enclosure size.
  3. I'm looking for a good quality, well made 15" sub that is RMS rated around 300-500 watts. All I play is rap and hiphop (yes there is a difference) so I would like a decent all around sub (highs and of course good lows). I currently have a 300 watt amp and will upgrade to larger if need be but I'm trying to keep it under 600 so I don't have to upgrade my electrical at the current time. My eyes are set on a Level 2 DC sub, which is fairly cheap coming in at roughly $200 shipped to my house. Could someone give me an overall review of this sub and/or give me recommendations for other subs? It will get around 2-3 hours daily use on around full tilt so I need a good daily sub that can handle the abuse with at least half ass good sound quality, and it has to murder the lows!! Also, I'm limited to around a 4cu f box so I don't know if I should try for two 12"s or stick with my one 15" plan. Thanks
