  1. Put a 3" RC lift on my '85 Toyota a while back. I've probably put around 1.5k miles on the lift almost all on paved road. Went mudding/climbing for the first time the other night and at the end of it all my front and rear leaf springs on the right side both became a lot 'flatter' than before. The left side didn't change. I've been told this is just the suspension and shackles settling out and the left side will do the same, but it seems rather 'extreme' in my opinion. The right rear shackle did shift backwards about 1/4 of an inch but I don't know if that could of caused the spring to flatten as much as it did. I don't have a lot of experience in this field as this is my first truck and I haven't been in the sport long so I might just be blowing this out of proportion.

What do yall think? Just it doing its normal settling or is did the springs fail in some way? Only took a couple pics, can take more if asked.

^^ Picture of the front passenger side leaf spring. Arrows show where the bottom of the spring actually bowed downward on both sides of the axle.

^^ Shows how funny it looks from the rear.

  2. My expert opinion is that it's some kind of Ford.. Everyone knows Toyota is better though haha Edit : Sayhuh is a fuckin' ninja. Btw I bet if you toun't a trunk box to 56hz you could do a 160 burp on two 12's. Shout out to Nate.

    IT'S FUCKING TUNING. Lol

Yeah, I'm pretty interested to see how much bump I can get out of it since it's a hatch. Couldn't afford the rare notch backs unfortunately. I'm thinking I'll probably just do one 15 tuint to 30hearts.

Man 30hurts isn't qutting it. If you tewnt down to like 22, especially since it's a hatch, you could probably do like a 147+ at 25hz. My cousins ex-boyfriends' sisters' brother did a 152 with four JL audio 14.6's at 20hz. He was turn't to like 12hz though, JL is one of the top brands though, don't know if you have that kinda cash. No offense.

  3. I buy my MDF en let it saw by the company self for free lol.

The places you buy it from almost never make straight cuts because they don't know what they are doing. aka Lowes or Home Depot

The guy at Lowes somehow cut all my pieces up to 3/4" off. Needless to say I had to re-cut everything when I got home..

  4. Spent a little more time looking at everything. Where the tinsel is sewn into the spider there is about a 3 inch long spot where the edge of the spider has come loose from the basket. The tinsel in question also seems too short. All the other tinsels have a decent hump in them where they have slack, if I hold the frayed ends together there is hardly any slack at all. Either way if there is no simple 'permanent' fix, I'll just send it back and pay for them to recone it or something.

  5. I'd like to find some fellow bass-lovers in South Carolina (or anywhere close). I've never heard anything getting over 1k watts so I think it's about time I sit in a real numbers car.

"nobody around here likes to put money and time into car audio"

My dad told me he's glad my small car don't look big enough for a system because they are changing the laws and cracking down on loud music. A few days later a cool cop told me to have fun but if he kept hearing my system it's $1060 ticket. Last time I recieved a noise ticket for my system it was $125 bucks. I guess this answers the reason why people aren't putting time and money into daily drivers that much anymore. On the other hand, I'm saving up for an extended cab truck so I can wall off some 15's or 18's ;) Fuck da po po <3

  6. Went on lunch break one day this past weekend and headed to McDonalds with my system going. Got my food and headed back the same way I came when I noticed a car approaching in the lane beside me fairly quickly. After they went out of view of my rear view I expected them to pass me but they never did. I eventually look over to see the driver hanging halfway out his damn door yelling at me ( i guess his window didn't work). I turn my music off expecting to be bitched out but was greeted with "GOD DAMN WHAT YOU GOT IN THERE". After a short convo yelling at each other while doing about 15 mph I told him to follow me and I pulled behind a department store to give him and his passenger a demo. All I have is a DC XL 15" on a DC 1.2k in a custom 3.30 Cu. Fu. box tuned to 30hz but they said they heard me loud and clear and followed the sound till they caught me. To shorten the story both of them were amazed that one 15 had that much output and low end and they kept asking questions about DC and my system in general.

I know this is a weak system for 98% of you on here but this was the first time a stranger stopped me to hear my system and just to see their reaction made my whole weekend so much better. Kinda felt like some of yall with a 'loud' system for a min HAHAHAHA! Thanks DC for your amazing products!

  7. I'm a ford guy, so I was reluctant to say the "C" word

Making $9 an hour is forcing me to obtain a loan with the help of my parents so anything I look at goes through them. I mentioned GMC to my dad and he instantly said NO. He's had the same Toyota pick up for about 23-24 years and it's his daily driver. He'd like something similar that he personally knows how to work on and in turn teach me as we work on it. I prefer the look of 'Yota's anyway hahaha.

Hopped on Craigslist a while ago and found 4-5 decent vehicles that were added in the past day or so, maybe I'll be ridin' in a truck sooner than I thought :)

Thanks for all the replies everyone.
