  1. Why would guys come in to a thread with no interest in the product? Why when here, would you talk shit? It's clearly a thread for DC 8s. If you don't like DC, DON'T post. If you're not interested in the sub, DON'T post. Jesus guys, this isn't the 8th grade

i didnt like him bashing cody, sorry for defending a well known vet of SMD and DC.

Your posts didn't bother me at all, it was the other guy's.

oh okay :] sorry for jumping you then

  2. you're so retarded.

i'd stop before you get too far behind.

yes...he had one on a dc 1.2k, at lowest he wired at 1 and for sure rose over 2, or he wired at 2 and rose above 4....aka, did not clamp 1.2k on his sub

    actually im not done.

    you know what?

cody actually runs a 14V system, which means he charges at 16V.

which also means, you guessed right! that little 1.2k amp thats rated at 12v or whatever DC rates their product at.. is no longer 1.2k.. but.... (quick trip to the dc website)

    Direct quote:

    1 ohm 16V 1,450W x 1

thats not including what it does over rated.. efficiency.. rise.. etc..

you and i both dont know the specs of codys box, he coulda even fucking free aired it, now cody has been around for a while and has been building shit constantly, his rise could be .5 or around there.

he could have a jacked 1.2k amp and it actually puts 2k out. either fucking way, if cody says he put 1.2k to the sub, he put around there, if not more.

so i'd pump the breaks a little if i was in your shoes.

    sorry had to lol

    Weight.

    Price.

    Mobility.

Cheaper cellular version and still uses the iPad iOS.

    Fits inside your business jacket.

To compete with other inferior tablet makers, such as kindle HD.

After using the iPod touch 5th gen, and having an iPad 3 it became obvious that the iPod touch was too small for comfortable usage, and that the iPad 3 is too big for most of my hobbies.

I bought the ipad mini for the cheap cellular reason. It's only $500.

obviously didn't get the joke. and to me $500 isn't cheap. especially for a 7" tablet

and besides mounting in a dash, what other hobbies require a tablet?

i got the joke, but i was just pointing out.

and plenty of other hobbies. many day to day operations uses full size ipads, schools, businesses, etc..

i know at my girlfriends school the freshman all got new ipads.

the main thing here is, the price.

its a cheaper, smaller ipad that does the same thing.

its only about $40 more than an ipod touch now. (since they no longer have a 16gb ipod touch, its only 32gb and 64gb, so $299)

and $500 is cheap, for a cellular enabled tablet. that doesnt run a "mobile" OS, but a tablet OS instead.

not to mention, if you have a verizon wireless share everything plan, the tablet is only $10 a month for 4g lte.

  4. Ok the mini doesnt have the retina display, but the display isnt terrible like some of you say. I use my mini way more than I ever used my big ipad. Much easier to hold, to me it is just more comfortable. Oh and I am sure the next version will probably have the retina display.

Next version will in 6 months sources say.

I didn't say the display was bad so to speak. But it's only a little better than a iPad 2. However it does sport a smaller screen, 7.9".

Like I said, mine is in the mail, but for now, it's just a common mid level PPI IPS panel.

Remember the resolution is only 1024x768 at 4:3.

The same resolution as CRT monitors had 12 years ago. So it's not THAT good. Don't be fooled.

  6. Pre ordered my iPad mini 16gb Verizon, should be here the 16th through 21st.

The resolution on it blows compared to my iPad 3.

Remember the iPad mini is NOT retina, so it is pretty bad compared to the screens out there.

However it does have a nice PPI of 163 or something like that. In a 7.9" screen, so it's not too bad.

But don't expect for the text to be as crisp as an iPad 3 or iPad 4.

I'll return here and give somewhat of a full review over my cellular version when I get it.

The performance should be very good though. Since screen resolution has a lot to do with performance.

I just returned my iPod 5th gen as the screen is too small, and I need a cellular version. (don't have a smart phone)

Now the iPod touch 5th gen does have a retina display. At 326 PPI, it blows the iPad mini out of the water.

Talking more on performance, the iPod and iPad mini both sport an A5 chip. They both have the same resolution, just the iPod is 16:9 screen ratio and the iPad mini is 4:3 (the same ratio as the iPad 3 and 4)

Just keep in mind the iPad 3 and iPad 4 have 2048x1536 screen resolutions at 264 PPI.

  7. if it didnt matter why ask the same question twice

Because it wasn't the same question, but AGAIN, reading is hard for you, so I understand.

I asked my question, and made my suggestion. Not to you or anyone else. This is the dc subform, dc topic, created by the dc owner.

Now do you have ANYTHING, to do with him or his business? If you don't, then why did you answer?

You jumping me is like them asking the same question about 8s. Simple answer, we want to know WHY, or why not.

I just wanted to learn, not get jumped by someone.

    So a few things:

Either respond to my question helpfully and technically.

    Or

Be a rep for DC and know their product like Cody does.

I really don't think I said hey miguels, why aren't they doing comp sets?

  8. Not like it matters, but I think a really good comp set would be nice.

What's the demand for 8s anyways?

Of course they're new so they will be bought up, however, a comp set would cost just as much (for us buyers) or around the same.

8s aren't really worth all this R&D, just to reuse a level 2 motor.

It's like refreshing the look of a level 2 8, except it takes a year to get them tooled and rolling.

Rather spend that time working on something worth while.

Again, this is my opinion, and idk the sales figures on your current 8s, but a good comp set sounds fantastic. (much more lucrative as well)

You would be amazed at how much 8" drivers sell

More than a comp set? Is the real question

  10. Something tells me you are going to try something that nobody has tried before with this. I don't know what yet, but I foresee some crazy hair tricks and numbers in the future.

nahhhh it won't be anything that hasn't been tried before. Whatever it is, there is no way around it looking like something else. There isn't much that hasn't already been done. Whatever i do, i plan on making it move a lot of wind though. Numbers? a 160 or better would be nice but if i REALLY want numbers, i will wall off my tercel and burp it @ 79hz.

i have seen vans whit the most violent hairtricks to date (on this site) and only do a 153 iirc - so numbers aren't the only goal here. Nice, but not necessary. Anything over a 158 and MAJOR WIND would be a good start IMO.

also, don't expect this thing to look dope as fuck for a while. It will probably be ugly and stock looking for a while as i decide what works best.

    Do it.

I've seen you say that twice now :P.

Makin me kinda curious how loud our bossman Meade can get.

  11. because people do stupid shit for stupider reasons.

oh hes got a gun, i bet he thinks hes all hard with his CHL

ima shoot him up and laugh at him.

an officer doesnt get shot up because hes.... an officer...

a mall cop doesnt get shot up because.... hes a mall cop.

an officer and a mall cop are not your day to day people who throw on a badge that says HEY I GOT A GUN LOL CMERE.
