  1. well those dd's are beast, so i dont think they would bottom out!!! i wish i could hear the noise to better help ya homie. ill mock up a box with those dimensions and that sub in my program to see what's up with it!!(to see if i get too much port noise) what coils do you have on the sub? only other thing, could be wiring is coming lose on the sub itself and malfunctioning as the volume is increased. you gotta a good amp too, so i dont think that is the problem.

I dont have any upgraded coils or anything

hold the port and see if the noise stops,

or check sub for separated neck joint.

my sub would play fine at low volume and as soon as i turned it up, i would get a weird metal clanking sound. the neck joint separated.

umm.. yeh i played it today and was watching the port on low volume and when it hits mor of low i can hear a slapping kind of noise in the port but i cant reach very far into it since its at an akward angle but me holding it helps it out.... bracing issue?!

  2. it shouldnt be that the , they are barely hitting at that volume! oh and when i was swapping the sub from the old box i could see probly half an inch of the coil.. and it was like the color of a raisin kinda of browinish darker, not like copper....... i don't remember it coming like that

  3. I just put my new box in today 16" ft3 port @ 36hz.. it all hit real hard n sounded great way better than my old box, but now when i turn the volume up to bout 20 / 45 theirs like apopping type of noise itl b doing , kind of like if ur sub trys and play under tuning or reaaall bad clipping, my port is along the bottom of the box....could this noise be coming from port hitting the trunk? i meen the box sits 2" away from the end of the trunk . Any help would be great

  4. My biggest issues when people use the same color, and the shade is so obviously different ie: from the exterior to the interior trim pieces.

And you should have spent twice as long prepping your pieces to be honest. If you are going to do something, my opinion is at least do it right.

we did, my buddy works at an autobody shop so we scuffed everything and used painters plastic and taped everything of with this good tape he gets from work so everything is clean. We spent along time preping each thing.

Well.. I decide to give myself a paintjob haha. This was done by me and my friend to cure boredom, and yeah..it is spray paint, 2 coats of flat black for primer than 2 coats of high enamel gloss black, and 2 coats of clear gloss on everything. On the rockers it's actually whino liner. Waiting to get my Digital Designs banner for front windshield and DD emblem for rear window. I guess it's not too bad for spray paint, everything is straight and clean. Tooke us about two days of three in the afternoon till about eleven at night. Just thought I'd share this

  6. Im currently running a DD 9515 with an AQ 2200, but I can see the DD is laughing at the power, I had an idea the other day about trading my AQ 2200 and some cash for an AQ 3500. The

DD should be able to handle that constant 4k of power shouldn't it? I meen i know you can run alot of power to any sub if it is set up correctly and yes this would be scoped out and no clipping.

  7. I revised it for better coherency sorry about that..Also i keep going into protect mode on my amp..my amp or box hates the song "Bass..I love you"... at half volume the amp cuts off.it also happens to alot of other songs but normally at higher volumes..Any ideas? could the ohms be dropping to low....Also in the first post I said I want to blow a sub,2 even.I have 2 blue P.O.S Pioneers and a couple hifonics,Orions,etc..I havnt blown a sub yet and i want to see what it takes..before i blow something expensive..And i was hoping something was set up wrong and that was saving the speakers from bein blown..

yeah..your ohm load will stay the same according to how you wired it and box rise and all that.... you meen voltage drop?

  8. so basicly right now why when i turn my volume to its normal. My crappy pioneers always want to pick up lows my sub cant even pick up....? and the crossover will illimnate this as I take it

Yes, leaving your speakers for only mids/highs

ok thanks. And are their certain or specific crossovers needed? or are do expensive ones make a difference, such as focal, beyma etc.?

There is no difference in the materials the crossovers are made from, e.g. you could make your own with resistors etc

But I'd suggest getting a small amp for your mids/highs. You'd get some potential out of them, have filters already on amp, and have an amp already there if you upgraded the speakers sometime in the future.

yeah im thinking about 4 beyma AST-09 tweeters and focal mids/highs haha

  10. Since i am going to be needing crossovers fro my neew mids/highs....can someone tell me exactly wtf they are and how they work! haha. I know I should know more about them but crossovers are the only thing i realy have no knowledge about, so be simple and make it easy to understand please! thanks!
