  1. If I turn the SW Level on the HU to +3 will it Clip sooner then 31/35?(When Isnt it tested at Flat EQ?I also turned it down I did have it on +5 :ehh: )and same with Mid LV and Treble? i have Bass on -1 does that Help with clipping? like if you put everything to -10 or what ever the max - is would you Head Unit Not clip or clip at a later state?

  2. You get what you pay for. Since many companies rate their amps differently, unless you do some reading (besides product reviews) you wouldnt know that.

Many brand rate on peak power. That may be a t a certain tone level, with 14.4V generally a tone that a sub wouldnt even use in the first place...

    Reputable brands rate on RMS.

The only hifonics that generally do rated power are the brutus series. Stay away from the hifi series.

And yes, like adam said you likely clipped the sub to death by trying to turn up the bass and gain.

    :clapping: well said :clapping:

  3. You can buy xovers from partsexpress. Look in the speaker building section. You can also use your amps internal crossover if it has it and meets the manufacture recc. for xover point and slope (db/octave). As far as which would be better...well smd has a no this vs. that policy. Lol I would try to find a person who has said gear, get a demo and see what you think. If you call partsexpress they can reccomend the right 2-way xover to meet your needs but I would do a little more research that way you have a better idea of what you want and what your ultimate goals are. :)

Thanks! Very helpful! :drink40: I will look into that! and i was just wondering if i should but the driver and tweeter or them in a package with crossovers etc. :pardon:
