Is there room to slide the subs hard to one side of the enclosure and move that middle port over to either side upright...Put it in the opposite side of the enclosure where you would like the most pressure up front....in other words port on drivers side = more pressure to the passenger side......I have done several enclosures like this in SUVs and they all POUND.........good luck
Subs up, Port up?

I'm a newb, but the middle port would prolly be the best because it helps brace the top baffle.
That's a plus. I've heard that middle ports cause the subs to fight each other to get air out of the port. Lol there's so many factors.

Alright I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe and I'm designing my box for my 2 18's. Having a little difficulty deciding on which design to go with. They both have the same tunning and volume. Its port placement im having trouble with. Ive heard and read up on different opinions but I wanted to be sure. Thanks in advance!
Design #1- Bottom Port
Design #2- Middle Port

Title pretty much explains it but ill start it off with my girl modeling my 750 of Ciroc and 750 of Crown Royal Black!
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!

I would also definitely suggest the 55W ballasts over the 35W and get the relay kit. My guess is that yours take the 9005/9006 bulbs correct? Also don't get them from HIDExtra, I'm not really happy with min and I went for the 5000K, which are still blue as hell.
So get the 55w for my lows and highs? And I plan on getting my from DMMTuning. Yea mine are the 9005/9006

I would just get hids for your low beams and your fog lights if you have them.
I dont have fog lights on my truck. Wish I did though!

I think I am going to run with these.

Ok, I have a 99 Chevy Tahoe and I want to switch my headlights over to HID's. I've been looking at DMMTuning but I'm not sure which kit I should get. I was thinking along the lines of a 55w 6k or 7k. And they're low/high kit says it only comes with 2 bulbs so would i have to get 2 sets because my truck has a separate bulb for lows and highs. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated!!

What impedance do you have that sitting at? I've been trying to find out which DC 15 could handle my AQ2200 at .5ohm!!

I think alot of us are in the same boat, slowly building there systems. I just got a couple of amps for my altima but now I have to do some brake work to it, so I again have to the system on hold. Oh and the damn door handle broke off this morning while I was at the gas station, I swear it never ends. Lol!
Damn! At least im not the only one! Trying to save and prioritize are the hardest things to do!!!

i have to pay cash for eveyrhting off mine .. about 2500 into it, my mom makes me pay cash for everything .. lol
and yes i get alot of shit for the amount i pay, but i hate people who give shit when i pay for a nice system when they spend like 2000 on a golf club or something else they like.. if you enjoy it spend your money, just don't go in debt doing so, best way is cash i would have to say, otherwise you just keep wanting more and more, and after a while you will realize that you have to pay that back in life.. lol
Same here bro! Each paycheck im trying to chip away on my system!!
Exactly lol.. thats how i roll... plus the system you already have.. face it.. its never enough, new builds are so fun, i love spending hours and time into making something look nice , then the end result is awesome ... then you move on to your next lol !
Story of my life!! Its like crack! You just keep needing more and more! Lmao!

thats exactly what my family says. They dont understand thats its something i like. They think i just like the loud bass. and i do. But the build is much more rewarding than just listening to music. lol... at least thats how it is for me.
At the end of the day looking at your build and saying "Damn, I did that.... Hell yea!" Lol
-
never try to convince someone who has no interest in what you do that the amount you spend on it is worth it. To them, a penny is too much spent!
True true! This forum is like my best friend some times! Sad, I know, but none of my peoples are passionate about bass like mi! SMD FTMFW!!!!

in 2002 I took out a loan to build my system. I'm still in debt and cant afford to put anything in my car right now.
Let that be a lesson or just a cool story bro, haha
Damn!!! I guess the lesson im taking from that is to be patient so I can save myself the stress in the long run! Lol
-
Is it hard as hell for anybody else to save up for parts of their system?!?!? Shit is killing mi! Lol just needed to vent to some fellow bass heads because everybody in my family thinks im crazy for having a passion for bass n the amount of money I try to spend!!!

Good lookin out!

A ending solid 14 + volts will net you over 3k
Thanks brah

Are u just running 14v to the bass amp meaning a dedicated alternator to the xs 14v batterys? Be careful with the vcm and voltage if your running all alts and batterys to trucks electronics. I set mine at 15.8 for daily driving cause it messes with steering sensor above that. And if you set the vcm at 16.8 hot when you 1st start it cold it will be over 17v which is real bad on the chevy. The airbag light will come on the tranny will shift hard and fuck up not to mention my deck will shut off etc. Be careful my tranny is fucked it shifts funny into 2nd gear now.
Wow brah thanks for that! I had my whole electrical charging at 16.8v for about a week n a half and had to let my Hoe sit in the shop for about 2 weeks gettin it fixed! I had no idea it was because of how high my voltage was! So my entire system is stripped out right now. So would u reccomend holding off on my xs 14v batts untill I can get a seperate alt specifically for my bass amp?
-
i know for sure its not 18 volt stable my buddy blew magic smoke, idk do you a vcm or anything similar to that? if you do i will just dial up from 16 until it goes in protect mode
Yea i do have a vcm and 2 d1400's. Thanks 4 the help brah!!

your title says 16.8v stable and your post asks 14v ? lol just look at its specs on their site
My post asks about a 14v "set up" not a 12v set up. My system charges between 16.5v and 16.8v . And on there site it says working voltage 8.5v-16v. I was simply trying to see if anybody has a stable 14v set up! Thanks Tho
and it says on 16volts you will get 2,500 watts its on there website
Yea i saw that. So that means its stable between 16v-16.9v? I want to know if its safe to run my amp beyond 16v?

Ok yea I know what your talking about now. My setup right now is 1 15" sub up, port firing back on the driver side. How does the air flow in the truck vary between ports?
