  1. Got to work on the box today. Don't seem to be having any problems so far. Its looking great. Thanks alot, I really appreciate it.

    I do have question, tho. Does it matter where I put the sub at on the baffle? Should I put closer to the port, or further from the port?

  2. Thanks alot for the help. I appreciate it. Now I just need the sub/amp and wood! I'll let you know if I have any questions or run into any problems. Is the vb after displacements?

    Here is a suggestion for your IVX15:

    Enclosure Specifications:

    Fb = 34 Hz

    Vb = 3.5 ft^3

    External Height = 16 in

    External Width = 37 in

    External Depth = 17 in

    Port Width = 3 3/8 in

    Cut Sheet List:

    * All Dimensions in Inches.

    * Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.

    External Enclosure Parts:

    Front = 32 7/8 x 14 1/2

    Back = 37 x 14 1/2

    Left & Right Sides:

    Side 1 = 15 1/2 x 14 1/2

    Side 2 = 16 1/4 x 14 1/2

    Top & Bottom = 37 x 17

    L Port Internal Assembly Parts:

    Front to Back = 12 1/8 x 14 1/2

    Extension = 8 x 14 1/2

    Let me know any questions.

  3. I've tried and tried to download Torres and for some reason I can't. So, since I can't download it would someone help me design a box for a skar ivx 15? If anyone is willing to help, here is what I'm working with.

    Equipment:

    Sub: Skar ivx 15d2

    Amp: hifonics Zeus 500.2

    Vehicle: 1991 Lincoln towncar

    Trunk is pretty damn big so not really limited too much for a single 15, but I'll go get exact measurements real quick.

    Goal: as loud as it can get for a daily box!

    I listen to mostly rap.

    I'm going to run it bridged at 4ohms, so it will be over-powered but it will be tuned with a dd1.

    The specs of the sub say 3.5ft^3 @35hz

    Edit: measurements of trunk is 26"H X 29"D X 42"W. That is usable space measurements. Actual trunk measurements are 27"H X 60"D X 55"W.

    The trunk of a towncar is designed weird which is why usable measurements are so different than the actual size of the trunk.

  4. I have a 91 Lincoln towncar. A couple weeks ago i took it to a shop to get the back brakes changed and rotors re-surfaced. I get it back and everything is good...for a couple days. I first noticed the car seemed to be struggling a lil when taking off after pushing the brake and just burning through gas. A couple days ago I noticed if I pull the brake pedal up with my foot, the brakes seem to release. Almost like the brakes aren't releasing all the way. What would cause this and how do I fix it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  5. i am running them off an external amp. i am running a 0gauge from front to back under the car down the frame, and rcas are running under carpet down the drivers side. when i thought the rcas were bad, i just plugged the new set of rcas into the radio and directly to the amp(not under the carpet or anything. if i could find the correct wiring harness for the car, i would run the 6.5s off the factory amp just to see if it still had the whine with the factory amp. but, i can't find anywhere that sells the correct one. i looked on ebay, but they all say it's not the correct harness for vehicles with "premium sound systems". i'm at a loss as to what is causing this.

  6. on the issue of the rcas being too close to power, it can't be. i would have thought that, too except my power wire is ran down one side of the car and the rcas down the other. but thanks anyway.

    and i'll look up how to ground the rcas.

    one more thing i wanted to add, is that when the car is running, the car itself kind of has a humming noise. not sure what it is. the car is a 91 lincoln town car, if anyone else on here has one. maybe they could let me know if there's does the same thing or not. when i get a chance, i'll try to take a short vid of the sound the car itself makes while running.

  7. I just installed a 400watt amp and a set of 6.5 comps in my girlfriends car. When the car is running i get a horrible humming/buzzing noise from the 6.5's. When not running just clean sound. Already changed rca's, moved ground. What else could it be? What can i do to fix it? The car does have a factory amp so could that have something to do with it?
