  1. Only drawback i have with my walled daily driver is the weight slowing me down :(

Doesn't slow me down much...but being over 300hp helps lol

Drawbacks- weight, no room for anything(have a jimmy too so that doesnt really matter to me) cant just leave it anywhere, gotta keep an eye on it at all times

Gain- def louder than most cars around, gas is still pretty good(its a honda!) still rides good too :)

Overall i would do it again, just louder than what it is now

didn't get the weight issue so much using birch compared to old builds with mdf

  2. Think of bass boost as an ONE Octave EQ utilizing a potentiometer. It will have a preset Curve/Slope/Drop-off on either side of the boost and it will have a center frequency where the boost in signal is applied. Exact same thing as the EQ on your headunit.

So for example: play a song with notes that peak at lets say, 35hz, 45hz, 65hz (that are even loudness originally). Next add bass boost at +6dB@45hz which is the most common unless you have a variable frequency knob as as well. You just made the song uneven in that the 45hz will now be obviously louder than the 35hz and 65hz because its getting more of the boost. I'm just grazing the surface of using bass boost but its one example of why its not always going to benefit you as much as setting the gain properly.

If you had a system with a drop in response within the range of a boost you could use it to smooth out the dip... so long as you are not introducing distortion from adding too much boost.

In my opinion, bass boost is most useful for amps that are playing kick drums only, not heavy synth bass.

    Very good explanation! :drinks:

  3. Just wanted to say I have officially been running 4 - SA-15's in my GP GXP now for 2 full weeks. I was skeptical at first of the product "just by the ratings" yet I purchased them because of people here on the forum that vouched for the product. I am incredibly pleased with how they have performed on music and tones, the sound QUALITY has left me speechless "at times literally." Here is a link to my build, planned to make more videos but can't pull it off when it is between 3 and 14 degrees out and snowing sideways... Please vote for me in SOTM if you like my build and the attention to detail that was put into it so far "more work to be done."

GP GXP Walled, 149db on music so far...

  4. Around 42-45 pounds each (probably about 6-8 pounds less once out of the shipping box)

I like to hear this as I wanted to go with them for weight savings to motor force! considering I will have 4 of them...

yeah there alot lighter then previous btls

Yeah, I used to have the gen II btls...HEAVY! lol

  5. Well What's a good batt for that amp? All I had before in my marquis was a rockford 2 farad cap and my lights dimmed bad but I had a 230 amp alt on it and wasn't enough. I'm just starting in the car audio competition so I'm still learning lol

Well, start by not mixing front and rear battery types...make sure to run agm type with agm type only. upgrade the big 3 to 1/0...never replace stock grounds due to some sensors, add them. Then, replace front battery with a respectable agm battery. with that amp I would recommend a group 31 additional battery.

  6. I have the 10/22 in an achangle kit with A2 style sights and to be honest I wish I would of gone with the S&W M&P 15-22 because the archangle kit looks and feels so cheap and its a pain to take it out of the kit to field strip it and clean it

OP if you can get the S&W get the instead

This is true, the S&W is a super easy to strip and clean weapon...

  7. Um the Hifonics Brutus line DOES put out rated rms. But the cheapass HFI line does not.

well said, also you have to consider true load...rise is a pain and could be most of your issue. A small plug for Rockford (I do love other amps) but they tend to have greater true output at 2 and 4ohms than other amps similarly rated at 1ohm. Especially the CP line.

  8. Well for my car I can only fit on alt and it 220a. I was think maybe Xs 3100 for my starter and a 3400 in the back maybe too.

call/email Mechman/DC Power and find out what they offer for your car as I assume the 220a you are mentioning is the PowerBastards alt.

I am running a DC Power 320a HP an upgraded front batt and 2 rear batts with 5k rms...no issues with daily pounding at all.
