Based on that response I went ahead and met with the seller for a demo. Started off nice enough, couple of intro thumps in the song...then the 1st bass drop hit...my vision went all funny, teeth chattered, I bit my neck, and my spine did the wave. I was yelling 'SOLD!' before the drop was even finished. They are 15" SE's re-coned with the Tres Equis. I am the 2nd owner, as the seller aquired them direct from Craig at RE. I had to pass on the enclosure however, it simply wouldn't fit in my car to get it home. It was nice, with etched RE mirror plate and gray suede carpeting, but it was made of 1" plywood. Are they not supposed to be made of MDF or HDF?? I asked of the specs and he told me Craig said they work best with 3 cubes each (8 cubes before driver and port displacement). That seems awfully much to me. Anyone have better data on that? Although it sounded, and felt, great at the stated 32hz tuning, it wasn't rolling off as tight as I was expecting. Do I need it tuned to a signifigantly lower freq? Whats the cutoff? Magnificent subs, hands down. Thank you again for your input. Without which, I likely would have passed on them.

1st off...Nice Forum! 'New' to car audio-no. 'Re-new' to car audio-yes. It's been along time since my last system build, so I'm not up to speed with todays equip per se. I've been doing alot of reading, now I need some up to date insight, opinionated and objective both. I thank you in advance for considering my inquiries. And please punch holes in my idea if I'm going the wrong direction with what I'm looking for. In short; Will (2) 15" Re SeXXX subs, in an 8 cubic feet (before displacement) enclosure ported to 32 hz, make it hurt?? I understand that different amps will yield different results, but can these subs do the job?? I will likely be using Zapco for the juice...maybe C2K 9.0 Back in 95/96 I fell in love with the 10w6 (x3), it literally shook parts off my sentra. Now I wanna go big. **Almost forgot...are they worth $350 for 2, or $500 for 2 and enclosure?** (I have a couple pictures, but can't figure out how to upload them)
