it means it gives 700 watts when wired to 4 ohms....and yes, you're probably going to pay alot for subs and an amp, this hobby isn't cheap, lol, you could always run 2 12's and a 2k amp.

we say a 3k, because after voltage drop and impedance rise, you'll see about 2k, also...sundown subs are underrated, and will take around 700-800. judging by all these posts i've read, seems like you shouldn't be hooking anything up by yourself what so ever, and you should not cheap out on an amp. if you're going to spend that much money on brand new 8's, you might as well get the decent electrical, and amp to power them. if not, go to nearest walmart. and i heard that sony xplod subs are pretty cheap, along with their sony xplod amp. good luck, edit...the brz series of amps isnt that bad, actually. i've heard alot of people complain about blowing them up, you could always look into a crescendo bc2k

the first subs i ever owned were performance teknique subs...bought them at a yard sale and hooked them up to a kenwood amp that came with it, awh yeah.......shit hit like 120dbz, thus my addiction to car audio came about, also..you can stack them, dafuq...win!

chode, thanks alot for making the trip to NY yesterday! sucks i didnt get to hear it. but i did get to hear brandon's quite a bit, these things absolutely slam. and hit the lows like no others, brandon was playing low 20's without ease. i'm sure whoever buy's them, will be absolutely satisfied with them.

get them directly through the company that makes the amps, i just bought a brand new amp from crescendo, warrantied for 1 year, and i could've bought a 2 year extended half ohm warranty as well
meh, id rather buy new, atleast new amps have warranties sometimes, and it's brand new and noone has ever used it.id rather buy used. Like i did with my current setup
you have to read the fine print , because not every one who sells a brand is an "authorized dealer" , if you read the warranty most times you will see that only items purchased from an authorized dealer are covered under warranty . and then some warranties are not worth a shit anyways , cost to ship to and from for repair , turn around time for repair , and the chance they will not solve the problem the first time around . can you still get warranty on gray gear ? sometimes yes , but how much non sense before they take care of you .
i have been on the seen of buying used gear too and the last few things have started to make me think otherwise about buying used gear off feebay . as for warranty though , i think if you can get a squaretrade warranty you might be covered pretty well

they don't make sundown 2ks anymore, they make a 2500. and you can find a USED one, for about $550.dc 2k or sundown, not crazy expensive and well worth it

lol, dafuq? and 150's are nasty. i got my 150 popped with boyd's jeep, does a 153ish....i'm planning a wall build in my car, so i can haz 150+ demoz all day/My other trend has a two door Chevy with a cutt through and he has 4 alpine type r's on a autotek mean machine class x. Amp and he hits hella hard with that
