Ok, i see!
I think i will buy one of those RF-BLD then and try it out- 1
-
It's time to give that 2ch rockford fosgate LOC a try with the fixed output. (RF-HLC)
and will use the high-lowlevel adapter cable for the other amp and then use its remote out function to trigger
the other amp on used bye that RF-HLC
I like to try new things.
Also going to take a major checkup on amp grounds and battery negative to ground connection.
Think i need some sanding/grinding. Using factory grounds currently. Quite long ground cables though in my trunk.
I really regret that i let that car-audio company to the cable installs about year 2007. Everything is redone except speaker wires from/to stereo. -
Found a service on yout product page saying "Total Overhaul" for DD-1
That sounded nice! Is it possible to get a video demo of that?

Got some major big news!
Went out to my car today and did some testing and stuff for 3 hours.
Started from scratch and realised that i had did something from my other testday.
The only thing i found was that my amp didnt like 1khz 0dB when i tested on the speaker outputs, distortion led was on the whole time.
So track 4 -5dB did the trick. No distortion what so ever.
Clean signal the whole way from stereo to speaker outputs.
Also adjusted crossover and PEQ.
Dont know what i did wrong the first time.. but something.
Im so happy now! Sounds very good! If i compare to my previous setup.
Sorry for my english. -
Ok, it is wurth a shot!
I can get remote via my Rockford Fosgate P1000X1 amp.. it has built in highlevel input on RCA so you must hook the speaker cables on the
RFI2SW adapter cable. Then when the amp sense the signal the remote can be used as remote out for other amps.
Maybe that is an option for me?
And buy the fixed 2ch for my fronts.
I have only adjustable ones. Maybe there is something with that.. if you say you have only had good results on the fixed ones. -
Volvo S40 2006
I have a clean signal when i hook up the test leads on the speaker cables.
DD-1 shows distortion about 80% of MAX.
My stereo display shows horizontal bars and not numbers.
So i have a reference at 4 bars before the text "MAX"but when i use any LOC the distortion light is light up nearly the whole time.
But when i listen to music it doesnt sound crap, dirty at all. Tried all kind of music at
different levels. -
I've always had good luck with the Rockford Fosgate LOC, I've used two on new Fords and one on a newer Chevy. I don't like the ones with pots on them, didn't want to have to deal with them. Every time I've used the Rockford ones, I was able to find where the hu distorted at. Not saying, that LOCs are any substitute for a good hu, but I've had good luck with those.
The ones I've used are the newer ones with the fixed output.
Intresting! I have been looking at those.. i might buy HLC-4 version and try. costs about $44 here
but there is no remote out on them.
-
That is possible but.. not in my dash i have no "slots"
Wish i had another car with a better headunit.I will carry on searching for a solution. Otherwise i surrender and live with dirty signal
it have been working since 2008. -
But there still is a lot of guys like me,who dont want to remove factory hu.just to keep it factory looking/steatlh.plus I like my factory steering controls with out buying a deck then all the other stuff to keep it.
I really need get a hold of a DD-1 to test my Audio control DQ-61. See where its at.
Yeah, a DSP might be a solution for me... but there are alot of brands.. just choose the right one hehe.
-
I think there are a lot of dirty ones out there i think
But what can i do? Either use the stock stuff or live with a dirty signal -
I might ask some electronic gurus on forums and see if its possible to make a non distorted lineout converter.. it cant be too hard i think.
You only need the right components. -
I had people offer me great amounts of money for my prototype hlc-1, one guy even waved $200 cash in my face.. But I wont sell it because I need it IF or when I put a small setup back in my car.
There is one that doesnt distort, and Im trying to remember myself because I need one for an upcoming install
Seems that the SMD prototype is the only one that are really working. Strange that no other brand works like that.
Please tell me if you find the one that doesnt distort.

That isnt possible to do in my car. Fiber optics, MOST-networks.. blabla..
Volvo S40 2006
Lineout converter is the only option for me.
Either a adjustable one or like the one that Rockford Fosgate has RFI2SW -
Yeah, i have watched both steve's video about that and also audiofanaticz..
-
To make a history short.
Got three different line out converters.
Got a OEM factory integrated headunit.. with built in amplifier.
Other stereo packages for my car has an external amp in the trunk.
The good part.
Found my non distored point on my stereo when testing at the speaker cables from
headunit speaker output. About at 4bars before the text "MAX" on my display.
Tried with three different brands for line out convertes but.. the distortion led is on if i touches the potentiometers
on the loc's..
Tried my new NVX XPLOC4 today that many people said it was a non distorted lineout converter..These are tested.
Rockford Fosgate IECAULOC
Autoleads PC1-61
NVX XPLOC4
So i dont know.. i give up.. i surrender -
I got a similair problem.. dont know if im supposed to create a new thread about that?
-
Does anyone have a suggestion for me on a good non distorting highlow adapter?
Tried my two different brands with DD-1 and they distorted right when i just touched the potentiometers
One was Rockford fosgate and the other one was a crappy Autoleads. -
that doesn't look like a box that came from my shop. If you got it from another dealer, chances are there is no card on the inside. The color of the disc means nothing. Thanks for the purchase though, regardless of where it came from! enjoy!
Thank you for your answers! Now i know.
-
Yes it will be. Havent tried her up yet. But my system is kinda basic tuned/gained with an oscilloscope. Will be fun to try it out. Now i can help my friends to tune there basic setups also some of them doesnt even know what gain is, what lowpass filter is etcetc..
-
I have seen other people with buisness card and a black labeled cd
it doesnt matter.. i got the dd-1 now and are soo happy
-
Finally i got my DD-1 today
Like a child on christmas i went home with my package and ripped it up haha
But there was no buisness card from steve there? and it was a white label on the cd?
