  1. yeah, or the people that think drilling a hole in a sealed box makes it ported .but i think i may try to swap to 4.5 inches wide on the port or something like that to see if i can get a bit of volume back.

i wouldnt sacrifise port area for a tad more volume..i would however tune it a shave higher..maybe 33 34hz..shit if u want to mount the subs inverted.. see if you can go maybe 1 or 2 more inches taller see what that does

  2. 3 cubes a woofer is a bit small.. 90% of 15s out like 3.5 4 cubes a piece..id say do 3.5 a woofer..so they would be more efficient on the lower power u plan on using. if you went 4 cubes it might be a bit much for higher power..

them look like some nice ass subs tho

damn let me see what i can do to boost the box volume, other wise does everything else seem fine,

make sure you do like double baffle sub plate and dont be shy with braces.. always use wood glue.. and liquid nails if u wann aget a reall good seal inside

ur dead on with the port area tho and the tuning should get verry low

  4. i run my vvx 12s on a sundown saz 1500 at 1/2ohm..and they LAUGH at it..literally gains set with a dd1 i can play full tilt for 40 -50 mins without break and they are barely warm (normal operating temp)

in 2 weeks im buying a audioque 3500 and going to set gains for a clean 2krms maybe 2500

why a aq3500...bc a local guy has 1 for a silly cheap deal

  5. Kenwood's aren't really 'bad', they actually flex my roof :D

And it would seem i may have fried the amp i was using.. guess it wasnt 2 ohm stable for bridging :(. 60 dollar sub has cost me 200! Some bs, now this thing shall see the 120v, 7000w wall socket!

uhh... most amps aint 2ohm stable bridged.. and on them boss phantom subs they have like a 1.5" voice coil.. thats gonna hold nowhere near 1100 lolololol

  6. 5 sheets.. if you make a mistake somewhere along the line or decide to switch it up.. get 6 sheets...

thats gonna be 1 heavy ass box.. 5 sheets of mdf good god lol... id use birch

factor in the cost difference of MDF vs birch in that quantity. 20 bucks more a sheet in most cases unless you get a hookup.

My truck box has at least 8 in it now and will end up around ten. lol.

around me birch is 5 bux more a sheet.. and they way i think of it as.. mdf weighs soo much more than birch.. the extra money u spend for birch..ull get it back in the gas ull save in due time .

i went from a standard 4.5 cube mdf box to the same size birch box.. i literally gained 2mpg..add that 2mpg gain per tank...

  7. im the same way i took all my interior trim panels and spray foamed behind them..( all the 1s i could) and when my door panel starts making noise.. i stuff a coat in between the door and seat lol..

im also the type of guy that will NOT play a system if the metal on metal sound is there lol..i sound deaden and foam every install before i even think about adding bass
