    i ran PAP recones for a few months and the guy who owns the subs still puts them thru a 1hr workout daily..and they have never faild..

    maybe ppl were having issues.. bc they are overpowering them or MAYBE it was a crap install..

    im NOT knocking daves work..i got 2 psi subs sittin in my closet lol.. just waiting for the right intsall to use them

  11. UPDATE... was two 15" DD, then Sundown... NOW four sa12!!!

    $200 can get you a 151.4. Money isn't everything and this proves it. Now granted with twice the power the dd's would out perform the sundowns, but still, same wattage, same box, $$$ hundred's less, only a .4 difference, I think it's safe to say Jacob got skills when it comes to building a sub!!!!

    How exactly can $200 get you over 151?

    ive seen a few people use SINGLE sa subs 8s 10s 12s 15s and do over 150 on straight burps..

    i see, but my 3 15's if i can fit them right (or ill do 2) will be on a dc 9k at 18V not sure if ill wire half or 1ohm..so gotta take a fucking pounding..

    i cannot see where pap softparts are any different than the other companies.. i LOVE psi recones..dave has hookd me up many times.. i personally hate all dc audio subs..they sound sooo hollow..spl sounding...

    scott at fi has been my dude for a few yrs also..

    I.M.O if you want to get pink dustcaps spiders etc go psi.. if not..well id for sure use pap over dc

    Thanks man, so if I build the box for two of them, have the subs facing up with the ports facing the back? And I also have deadened the trunk very well from when I had 2 12s in there. I also have the big 3 done, batteries will come after the subs, stock alt.

    if ur planning on trying BOTH 15s in the trunk...i would for sure try to seal them off and fire forward into the cabin..

    i personally think a single 15 would be sufficient,, be easier to feed also with the stock alt n such

    that SMD will take 5k rms allllll day long if clean power... power acoustik boss and all them are NOT going to come anywhere near rated power..

    IF ur actually going to get a smd..dont waste money on a amp that will die anyways bc they r that cheap..

    also why make a thread if u already know what ur going to buy n such?/

    I was in a similiar situation. My mom and dad taught me growing up that if I wanted something bad enough, I would save my money for it so I would appreciate it more as my own. Now that I have saved my money, I'm ordering a Sundown SA-8D4, and my mom won't even speak to me! Kinda backfired on her if you ask me =@

    same for me too.... everything i had i bought and paid for myself..i owned 3 cars before i was even old enough to drive..and already at that point had about 10 systems...my mother knew i really loved my hobby..and she let me do what i wanted to

    that was years n years ago now..i STILL love audio j ust as much..but the level has just grown lol
